Big_G says: I'm new to the site, but I've been wondering about this too. Great idea.
SPR says: StuH - Doesn't necessarily need to replace anything, just thought WAVA wouldn't be useful on a training run and would be against races. If people find it useful then no reason for it to go.

The share isn't very appealing.

Rather than the plain text box image it shows, could we not have a picture summary of the training log for that session. Just to make it more appealing to look at.

Some sort of hilliness factor for routes, so routes of different lengths can be easily compared to see how hilly they are. The current ‘hillscore’ doesn’t appear to do this.
Comments
fetcheveryone says: Open to comments on how to achieve this :-) I'm still thinking.
Sigh says: Why not just use the ascent data?
Fragile Do Not Bend says: I think it could be as simple as ascent per mile - I wanted an easy way of being able to tell if this 8 mile route was as hilly as the Beachy Head marathon, for instance
westmoors says: I use the formula "(total ascent + total descent) * (max elevation - min elevation) / miles" to compare hilliness of routes.

larkim Jan 29

Comments
fetcheveryone says: I really like this idea. Just got to get my head round how to create the parts.
larkim says: If you just allowed the existing "trim into 2" approach, but saved both copies, that would be a great start, rather than having to code to allow for unlimited sections. Users could then iterate.
HappyG(rrr) says: In SportTracks in the old days it was called "Split" rather than trim. You could split and save or split and discard (i.e. trim!). Useful for splitting up the WU, Pace and CD sections of a pace run. I know some people log these all separately, but I can't

Nightjar says: Indeed. I'd suggest anything over a mile would differentiate a wlak around the block (0.87 miles around our office) from a more serious effort.
Serendippily says: I’d support this too in fact if a walk or run or cycle was under 2 squares it could be subject to downgrading unless it’s at the edge so it doesn’t matter if some people’s tech marks walks as runs
chunkywizard says: I think a walk is a walk, no matter how long, but as it takes longer than running I don't know why it should count less.
JCB says: Yes, chunkywizard. I agree. I’ve mentioned in the past about walking a certain distance taking longer than a run (and much more than a bike ride). And interestingly from calorie usage walking and running a certain distance takes roughly the same number.
