About Me

Most of my adult life up to 2005 - motorcycle riding couch potato.
2005 - 1 half marathon and an intelligent sport event. Still hate exercise.
2006/7 Lived in Portugal, rode motorbike.
2008-2011 ish. Played in defence in ladies football team. Mostly useful as an obstacle. Still hate exercise but like football, so some cross training and a few 5/10ks. Then injury...
2012 the fatness and unfitness is at unacceptable levels. Started wiifit and found parkrun.
Oct 2012 - part of core team at Woodley parkrun, become regular parkrunner. Met he who would eventually become Going Commando! 2013-2017 escalating distances and number of sports attempted, fitness, and occasionally speed. Became JustCommando! 2017 goal - Cotswold 113 June 4. Survival / same day finish. Motorbike for sale due to time and money consuming carbon fibre bicycle habit.
2017 - Did the half iron man, became lapsed Fetchie. I'm still about, but not as much. Was my annus horribilis but now in a new job.. 2018 - Did an Ultra. The word "run" not really appropriate :) General busyness and lazyness and coaching rather than doing.
2019 - Race to the Stones booked. Training plan in progress. Training *also* in progress.
2020 - two marathons and the Race to the Stones last year, not fast but Stones in particular was a brilliant experience. Now to go less far, much faster. Chasing down the 5k PB from 2015, back to triathleticism. Project joker and myfitnesspal in progress. Til scuppered by snotty cold.

Current Status

I'm here! Occasionally... After lots of looooong runs over the last few years, the focus is quality not quantity. 50% wava... sub 30 min parkrun... sub hour 10k? It's a few years since the first 2, and I've never done the 3rd.
