About Me

Started running in 2009 as a way to lose some weight for my wedding. Was hopeless, but after building up to 5k at my local Race for Life I was hooked. Moved up to 10k in 2010 and then to Half Marathons in 2011. I'm never going to be at the front, but I figure that I'm just doing my own thing and I get there eventually.

Have discovered that I love running trails. Sometimes too many hills for my liking but I'm getting used to them. Nothing like getting covered in mud! Takes me back to being a kid again :-)

2015 was a mixed bag. Had some health issues which included being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Since then I've shifted over 30lbs in weight and during 2016 bagged PBs for 5k, 10k, 10 mile, Half Marathon and Marathon in 2016.

Looking forward to what 2017 has to offer and the possible inclusion of some cycling and swimming!

What I most love is encouraging others. I'm a jogscotland leader and about to embark on a new journey with Kathrine Switzer's 261 Fearless Movement.

I am the proof that you CAN do it if you put your mind to it :-)
