Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker. I understand. No-one likes ads.

But our site costs money to operate, and I need to eat.

Please consider enabling ads for our website, or making a voluntary donation. If you donate, I can turn off the ads for you for a period of time. Average donations are about £3.50 per month, so a tenner would give you three months ad free.

Here's a link to our donation info.

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

About Me

Started running in 2009 as a way to lose some weight. Was hopeless, but after building up to 5k at my local Race for Life I was hooked. Moved up to 10k in 2010 and then to Half Marathons in 2011. Followed up eventually with Marathon and Ultra distances despite protesting that I would never do that there was no way in hell I would ever tackle these!
Have discovered that I love running trails. Sometimes too many hills for my liking but I'm getting used to them. Nothing like getting covered in mud! Takes me back to being a kid again :)
I'm just starting to get back into blogging again. You can find it here: joggingmayhem.wordpress.com
2015 was a mixed bag. Had some health issues which included being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I shifted over 30lbs in weight and during 2016 bagged PBs for 5k, 10k, 10 mile, Half Marathon and Marathon in 2016.
Unfortunately 2017 onwards hasn't been so great with a lot of personal stuff happening and the weight creeping back on, but hopefully I'm starting to come out the other side now.
What I most love is encouraging others. I'm a jogscotland leader and coach for Kathrine Switzer's 261 Fearless Movement, although it looks like I will be disbanding the club after 2 years as my area is swamped with groups and although it's a womens only group I don't have the skills to market it effectively.
No matter what happens I am the proof that you CAN do it if you put your mind to it :) having just managed a little over 50 miles at Glenmore 24 (07/09/2019).
I've even started cycling, so looking to develop that and my next major goal is Race to the Stones 2020, which I have already entered.
