A little slower than last year, but course has changed. There were even a few gentle inclines!
Will review what I'm doing regards pace later in the year.
12/10/2012. After having a cold and sore throat I'm not expecting much from this race other than complete under 2 hrs. Having run Nottingham 50k Ultra last week this will more or less be my last race of the year. Just a case of having some fun.
Never going to happen what with the cold taking longer to recover from. Just ran for completion and enjoyment but there wasn't much of the latter. The cold saw to that.
really happy that am steadily improving and getting back to pre-injury pace, and to help dave to a new pb although not sure by the end who was helping who more! job done and hopefully i can have an injury free year and smash my pb next year!
A PW but pleased to i) start & ii) finish after a summer of injury that meant I hadn't run more than 8.5 miles in training...
Great start, started slow as planned, upped the pace around mile five, as planned, held on until about 8 miles until the right knee seized up & I had to drop down to 10+ min/miles. Mile 13 was agony but I knew if I walked I wouldn't get going again, so in true Marathon Talk stylee I zipped up the (wo)man suit and made it in under 2 hours. 9 mins slower that target but under the circumstances I'm pleased.
Love this race every year, fantastically well organised, good support along route, great cakes at the finish line and to top it off it's where my Mum & Dad live so I get my own personal support crew handing me drinks at the halfway point!
Fast, flat, sunny and fabulous! Took 13mins off my PB after my sister convinced me to start in the 2hr pen instead of my planned 2:10 time. Amazing.
good race, bad oragnisition with the car parks
2nd half - passed 57, passed by 3
avg 6.42 per mile
Nice weather for it. Well organise (yay, free food!) and many thanks to the people of p'borough for standing out to cheer everyone on.
OK so I know it's not the world's most picturesque course but for some reason I love this race and this year was no exception!
Big pb planned here....Not the time predicted, but a big pb nonetheless well pleased with this
IT Band problems, no long runs at present. Possible withdrawal.
GER. Get in there.
Started to really work in the eighth miile and wasnt sure I would hold on. In the end I think it was a very slight negative split, but my word I was fighting at the end!
Really quite proud. I did this off fairly incosistent training so well happy.
Actual time 1:44ish missed start ,taking up start mats so gun time
Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
gun time 1:33:14, chip time is 1:32:47
Ran well upto 10 miles, my 3rd fastest ever within a HM, but lost it a bit in the last 5k. They changed the course this year and it came out much longer than in the previous 4 years, so if you believe the Garmin I actually ran faster than last year. Not a disaster, but it could have been much better.
Slow start - difficult to get through in the first 3-4 miles. Even 4.20 kms for most of the race. tired at the end and not much more to give - need to get quicker!!!
well pleased with myself
Greatv run - first 6 with Steve at a steady (sensible!) pace - then pushed on alittle - thinking he was close behind. last 1 1/2 was hard work but managed to smash my predicted time really pleased with myself
MV50 PB in my 100th half marathon!!
13.27 miles ran - learn to keep a racing line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent run. Thought was in decent shape but didn't think would run as quick. Fairly quick course but a little twisty in places. Good conditions and battling with people the whole race.
