Prof Disco Dean complete fuck up from the start.. was pacing the sub 3:30 group but when mile 7 was out of sync it was hard to keep the group together!

not the best day and to top things off my bag got put on wrong lorry by mistake :-( so was wearing wet clothes for few hours until they found!! Reading Roadrunners 3:01:11 3:01:11 3:29:59 3:30:45 57.69

Rog36 Well pleased with my time, although it's a shame the course measured 26.6 miles as I would have been under 3:10:00. Still next time! BRJ Run and Tri 2:59:56 3:06:54 3:14:59 3:11:19 68.24
boyband6666 The conditions were awful, and many paths flooded. To give a measure of it, of the 5k entrants, 1k did not start, and 800DNF'd. Again to explain the conditions, the winner, for a decent sized marathon, came home in 2:41.50, and only 24 people made it under 3 hours. My plans for sub 3 were scuppered by the 16mph headwind from miles 11-19, but I did a professional job, getting home in 3:08.40, to get my London GFA time. This put me in 72nd place, out of 2923 finishers - madness!

Not too far away in Stratford, the marathon was cancelled, and truncated to a half when most people were between miles 3 & 4. A call they should have made earlier, but apparently the weather was biblical...

Anyway I'll see you all in London next year, and hopefully we'll see the back of the weather! Also I shall get my 2.54 which otherwise I was on for today! Long Eaton Running Club, White Lightening Harriers, McCarkiss Endurance Project 2:28:29 3:08:40 2:59:59 3:08:40 64.43

TrailsurferUK Rain just poured down right throughout this race. Full of mud and much of the course seemed similar. Feet were killing me at mile 22. Was far from my best. Didn't enjoy this race at all but luckily went with a good crowd who more than made up for it. Reading Roadrunners 3:20:56 3:25:06 3:25:00 3:45:19 59.94

Alun Lashing rain and strong gusts of wind. Flat course with only a few bumps over roads & canals and a few dips under roads to negotiate.

Faded badly over the last 4 miles and was like an extra in a zombie film for the last 2!

Ended up (along with many others) in the medical centre with my body temperature reduced to almost 32C.

Still got a 3 minute PB in horrendous conditions but it could have been so much more. Medway & Maidstone AC 2:59:28 3:27:15 3:14:59 3:27:15 63.52

Tim of Fife MILTON KEYNES FULL-MARATHON - 26.2 miles - 4:40.53 (approx 2:15 / 2:25 splits) (2,094 of 2,923 finishers) - I looked out of the window when I woke up and nearly went back to bed! I should have done. It was brutal. The combination of cold, heavy rain and storm-force wind made the going very, very tough. Physically (cardio and legs), I was fine through the first half – although I thought seriously about calling Sue pretty much every mile. Miles 14-18 were the worst. All into the wind. They just completely knocked the stuffing out of me. So, I went into ‘survival mode’ for the last few miles – jogging when I felt able and walking when I didn’t. The last mile was awesome. All downhill with StadiumMK in sight. Then, down the tunnel and into the stadium, which was absolutely ‘rocking’, for a finish that I’ll never forget. With hindsight, it was foolish taking on 26.2 miles on so little long-distance work. However, I don’t think that it was lack of base stamina that ‘thrashed’ me. Rather, just having to work so, so much harder each and every mile meant that I had no reserves.

J*C Ok will try again in a less crowded race, only hope I'm not still as tired as I've felt over the last few days, but I add my legs are fine it's just a case of eating:) my long runs show this is achievable so I will join the pacing group at see if allowing someone else to manage the pace works:) Unaffiliated 4:37:36 4:45:54 4:29:07 4:45:54 49.42
