After the heat of Edinburgh i thought why not have a second bash at Sub 4 in Scotland so this is it.
Ddi this last year..........caught out by the hills!
I've got a score to settle with this 'un... want to make a better job of it than I did the first time I ran it! UPDATE - well, that didn't go as planned Time taken from chip, Garmin time was 4:42:40 (minute faster than the first time I ran it) - I stopped my watch standing in the loo queue at Dores and after about 2 mins realised the queue wasn't moving so kept going. Full race report to follow in blog at some point.
Heard ita a tough course, think sub 3.45 is reasonable
Had a great run. Fantastic course and loved the hills. Felt good the whole way and even picked up the pace in the last 4 miles.
race started late due to bus problems. great weather for running. course PB.
Broken, broken knee. Very sad but shall try again next year...
Ultra Kanga Kazzaaaaah!!
Ran with two other 'crocks'. Great race, stunning scenery - could have done with being in a little less pain
Fell o runner
My second Mara, first was a lap ofLake Widemere, this one is just one side of Loch Nesss!!
Just loved it, couldn't believe how well I ran, 33 minutes quicker than my previous road marathon!
Running this for a local hospice. Please sponsor me at justgiving.com
The most I have run so far is a half marathon on the road so I am going to need to train quite hard to get under 5 hours.
Great race, beautiful scenery and well organised
I Hate marathons , not got a clue how it will go , just hope the weather is a bit cooler than lochaber this year. Last one ever !! again!!. Wahey , a new p.b by six minutes and the first time i have managed the 26.2 without having to walk for a bit. Hopefully my last ever marathon cos i still hate marathons!!
Hoping to exercise the ghost of Edinburgh. Even worse than Edinburgh
Much harder than I thought it was going to be .... went through 20 miles @2.51 exactly.
crap....crap...crap....lack of training and sleep took its toll today. Decided to go for 2.48 and was on target up to 22 miles when the legs just started to drain and the pace went from 6.30's to 9m/m within a mile or two. Took all I had to keep running and not stop in the last mile. Enjoyed the course and the miles just ticked by up to 17 then the hills started up to 19. Left 40 mins for the last 10k but it wasn't happening today....I'll be back next year better prepared!
Oh please this time....sub 4....please! Ho hum better luck next time, and there will be a next time!
I guess 6 months off training with 3 and a bit months good training just wasn't enough. Did weel until 18 miles then crashed.
Can't believe time considering running with itbs and couldn't even run a mile a week ago/no training past 4 weeks.
Relieved it is all over. Killer hills!
Hmmm-not as good as I hoped for-still there are always others out there!
Auld fat Ironman
Injured, didn't make it.
Having loved every minute of edinburgh, even the heat, ready to tackle another scottish marathon but hopefully in cooler conditions
MY FIRST EVER MARATHON I WOULD LOVE TO GET A TIME OF 3HR 30MINS BUT WE WILL SEE.I WILL BE HAPPY AS LONG AS I AM UNDER 4HRS .first marathon done under 3.30 yeeehhaaa.
Although off to a delayed start I felt fine for the first 10 miles. I started to fell unwell just before half way which I was through in 1:46. I felt awful by Dores and walked most of the last 4 miles. I still set a PB but I hope to never run that bad again especially in London next year
must do better!!
Much better than Edinburgh but felt great and did the 1st half far too fast, which resulted in the last 10 miles not being so great, in fact pretty hellish - there's always the next one to put it right!
Happy I managed to finish. Apart from the first 13 miles, enjoyed the race !!
Well another race completed. Found last 6 miles hard going, legs were very tired, big toes were sore and also my back was sore. But managed it and can't wait for next marathon. Once legs, back and toes are recovered.
PB in f lites and running fartlek styley!!
Cramping left calf from mile 23, but finally cracked the 2.45!!!
first marathon last 6 miles very tough
Looooved it :D - but 6 seconds...6 seconds....and I would have been sub-4 arrggghhh hehe
good results as I only trained up to 11 miles and then had a gallstone attack and returned running 2 weeks before the event! Pleased to get around!
Very ill, and should not have been running!
