About me... well I am a geordie lass (or geordiegirl) I first joined fetch when I struggled with ill-health and I know it was the Fetch community that kept me going. Can’t quite believe I’ve been here 16yrs! I have finally joined the ranks of trying to become an ultra runner!!! In June 2021 I did a 100k - Race to the Castle with my ultra bud NellieJane, in June 2022 I conquered The Wall OMG it was another level the road was tough but the end I felt so amazing. Signed up to do Jordan Ultra Challenge in 2024 with Nelliejane and I’m so excited about this one. How do you pick yourself up when you need to? I am working very hard on positivity and gratitude. But when days are low I put my kit on & get out for a walk, if the beat takes me I up the pace I let my thoughts wander to positives. Normally by the time I come back I feel a lot better for it. |

Had some things to pick up in Durham so I decided to run there and back. I did get picked up 2m from home as the grumpy one wants to go carpet shopping.
Mile 4 I took my life into my hands on a back road with no footpaths and the road was busier than the dual carriageway. Mile 7/8 slowed as I was dodging the masses in Durham town centre, taking photos of ice sculptures & found the hills. Otherwise not too bad. It was hard to push out the door in the rain today esp as it was so fecking cold but I took the opportunity to test out the barrier waterproof trousers and Dexshell socks brought at 2023 running show abs never worn. Typically within minutes of setting off it stopped - guess they did their job then 🤣 comfortable to wear and if nothing else kept me warm.

WOW when Caroline uses 10kg dumbbells note to self, 7kg is too heavy (at least for now)! I managed first couple of exercises with 7kg then dropped to 5kg.
