About me... well I am a geordie lass (or geordiegirl) and have been running off and on over the years.
I have finally joined the ranks of trying to become an ultra runner!!! In June 2021 I did a 100k - Race to the Castle with my ultra bud NellieJane, in June 2022 I conquered The Wall OMG it was another level the road was tough but the end I felt so amazing. What’s the best bit of advice that you would give to new runners, bikers and swimmers? Take it steady it has to be fun first and foremost there is time later to make the bigger changes and improvements. Remember to run your run don’t compare yourself to others, we were all new runners once. Smile relax and enjoy! |

Late run as I decided to start late after yesterday’s work trip (15hr day)

Run with my gorgeous friend Ruth. Garmin GPS didn’t connect again and when I’ve mapped it I was .5m short. So I’ve added it back in as we did the same run.

Longest run since The Wall, last month was a recovery month this month is the start of building the long miles to get a base to build on next year for the plans in hand.
Ran loop to Huntingdon and back via Godmanchester. Rubbish sleep meant I didn’t manage a pre work run so post work it was. As I was in office it was later than planned and after a decent tea (butter chicken lasagne) made for a sluggish first mile (& false start as garmin wouldn’t connect - AGAIN) but I headed to the woods which was so lovely. Cut short and walked back home with my mam, her knee was a bit sore after decorating today so opted to walk not run. All in all can’t complain.

Confidence building run for my friend who I’ve persuaded to run Paras10 next month. This was slower than we could have done as a lot of the paths were overgrown and ground so fry a slip was very possible. But we have chatted laughed and shouted at brambles and tree roots, Mags took a tumble and we couldn’t find the path we needed which took some too-ing & fro-ing. But very enjoyable if not a bit warm.

Run with mam back on the fells, had to be super careful she didn’t slip or trip don’t want an aggravated incident but she loved being back there.
