MattTheRat Fairly biblical weather. Smooth start, 1st half harder than 2nd because of wind but lost focus around the city. A PB, but disappointed not to dip under 38 minutes. Dead even 5k splits. Victoria Park Harriers & Tower Hamlets AC 37:14 37:42 38:00 38:02 73.76

abdou Really sorry bettors - got to the start late and the crowds were too thick for the first 4-5k. Went through 2k in 12.30 rather than planned 8.00 and was never able to make it up. That was frustrating but otherwise the event was great - really good marshals etc despite the weather. Hillsborough & Rivelin RC 37:04 39:29 38:59 42:10 62.61

Pneu Ran with Nige most of the way through the torrential rain and blowing gales. We were hanging around in the freezing cold rain for a good hour before hand, just getting colder. On a sunny day this would have been wondeful -great course, but in this weather it was just terrible. 'never really got going; thank good ness for Nigel's black bin bag it was the only thing standing between me and pneumonia. Worst time I have probably ever done for a 10K, but also about 20 years since my last one! Pfleet Feet Running Club 42:05 45:31 44:00 45:31 59.76

Cormorant What a great course, but what a pity you could just make out those landmarks through veils of rain - it only let up for a few minutes in the first half of the race. It was OK to run in, though worse for the marshalls and the people at drinks stations and giving out goody bags - so thanks to all of you. Had to retie laces three times in this one - they must have been Freudian laces. This is an event for next year too, I think. Cranleigh Tortoise & Hare Runners 44:56 48:03 48:00 49:14 60.86

-caz- I was hoping to chase a PB at this event, something I've never trained 'seriously' for but aim to dip under 45min. The nearest I got to rediscovering my teenage 10k form was in 1999 when I managed 45.54 at the Perth 2 inches 10k. Speed just isn't there but the weight is starting to come off, always a good sign. Maybe later in the year !!! Unaffiliated 47:21 49:50 53:00 58:41 45.25

Making_Tracks Looking for a steady 9:30 mile pace for this to bring me in under the 60 minute mark.

*EDIT* Coo what a wet day! Still a good romp around London with lots of other Fetchies. Quite pleased that my 10k pace is almost the same as my 5k pace. Think that I'm going to have to stop being a slacker and up the speed on my intervals. Unaffiliated 52:53 59:14 59:59 59:14 53.21

Tigerlily Travelling down from Dundee the day before. Anyone recommend anywhere nice for us to go for eats? Staying in Kings Cross...blimey. Would love to break the 60 minute barrier but will enjoy the occasion no matter what. UPDATE: Utter crap. Weather was dreadful and I was soaked through even before we started. I thought I ran better than I had done of late but the figures say otherwise. Only ray of sunshine was meeting Battlecat at the start line! Sorry for not making the drinks at Yate's..I was cold, wet and miserable and just wanted to be on my train home. Not one I want to do again.x Unaffiliated 55:00 1:01:30 1:05:00 1:02:49 48.62

SUPERWOMAN63 I have felt lousy all week with a really bad cold and only started feeling brighter on saturday afternoon. Still wasn't sure if l was going to run this as hadn't run for several days. BUT l did and throughly enjoyed this run and so glad l got around the course. The weather was absolutely atrocious from start to finish, the marshalls were very supportive and the race was well organised . Unaffiliated 1:02:32 1:03:18 1:25:00 1:05:13 48.70

Farby Well, it was a nice course, but shame about the weather! I'm sure there would have been more support if the weather had been better - but what there was was good :-) Shame that I felt awful the whole way round. I really struggled to finish this, so I'm glad I got round in less than 70 minutes - even though the original target was 60... it'll come, I'm sure - but sorry to those who bet on me :-( Unaffiliated 1:02:56 1:09:11 1:00:00 1:09:11 43.11
