Wimbledon Windmiler's Running Club is London's second biggest running club but probably the most friendly and welcoming! We have over 450 members of all <a href="http://www.windmilers.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=74&Itemid=97" target="_blank">ages</a> and abilities. So if you're just starting out trying to run your first 5k and want to meet people of the same level then you'll be in great company for training and socialising! Our <a href="http://www.windmilers.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=62" target="_blank">Sunday</a> morning training session is the best place to start running with the club. For the more experienced runner we have members competing at all levels in a variety of races including county cross-country, club relays, marathons, triathlons and adventure racing. <p>
We offer a wide range of <a href="http://www.windmilers.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=38" target="_blank">coached training</a> sessions: <a href="http://www.windmilers.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=26&Itemid=56" target="_blank">Tuesday</a> evening (speedwork), <a href="http://www.windmilers.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=26&Itemid=56" target="_blank">Thursday</a> evening (hill training), <a href="http://www.windmilers.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=62" target="_blank">Saturday</a> mornings (track), and <a href="http://www.windmilers.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=27&Itemid=57" target="_blank">Sunday</a> mornings (social & longer runs). As you'd expect when we're not running there is a very active <a href="http://www.windmilers.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=29&Itemid=60" target="_blank">social</a> side to the club. <p>
If you would like to come and find out more please come along to any of our training sessions. Or if you want to speak to somone before hand please contact our Club Chairman Nick Wood (nickwoodrunner@yahoo.co.uk).
If you're fairly new to running then you're more than welcome to turn up to our 10am Sunday morning social run starting from the Windmill Car Park on Wimbledon Common. There's always a large group for this session and the run starts with an introduction from the coach followed by a group warm-up. The run itself is around 3 miles with several stops to re-group and stretch. No-one is left behind! As long as you can keep up a gentle jog for 5-10 minutes you'll be fine. Those that feel like a slightly longer run afterwards can continue into Richmond Park for our 5 or 7 mile course. Once the running's over most head for the Windmill Cafe to catch up over a mug of coffee and flapjack!
