Started way too fast, wasn't properly warmed up. After the 3rd mile settled in to the pace and found someone to run with(bertha) until KM 23 where I sped up towards the line. The course was good, and it was reasonably well organised. The beer tent at the finish was excellent.
Probably my best race ever. Everything clicked at the right time! One or two organisational quibbles aside, it was a very good event.
Recovering after 4.5 months of injury. Only two weeks of limited training but very pleased with my performance. Good event and would do it again next year if it's on.
Went off far too fast!!! Couldn't overtake anybody from 7 miles onwards. Until the finish when had a 200m sprint, to finish in style!!!
Rather leg weary from the Malta marathon. I would like to do this race again when fresher.
Ran faster than expected, last couple of miles hard but still had enough in the tank for a sprint finish.
Halfway split 1:09:19
Finishing position 1157 out of 4186.
Tonsilitis and penicillin 2 weeks before proved for a very poorly prepared race, all I ate was a token amount of scones in the 4-5 days run upto the race - almost didn't start and ultimately was very grateful just to have done it without stopping.
Probably MP run.
enjoyed it . aiming 2b injury free and gunning for top 20 next year !!
An excellent race. I thought the officials were probably over-cautious about the start, but it is the first year so real complaints. Perhaps some refreshments should made available at the start and thankfully it wasn't raining coz there was nowhere to shelter!
this`ll be different, hope i can stay the distance, furthest i`ve ran to this day is 14 miles??
really well organised, a bit windy but what a great race,
Not at all sure what to expect of this but I'll do my best to enjoy the day! Ran with a very sore calf muscle but was damned if I was going to give up! Alas a lot slower than I was hoping but it gives me something to beat next year and come what may is a PB! Did enjoy the race and thought it was quite well organized - hope everyone else did!
Felt good, ran strong throughout but controlled, very pleased with the outcome.
Chuffed to bits with this! Ran 4m pre-race as warm-up and to total the run to 20m+! Aim was for 8:20mm ish which is my new PMP, but to see how it felt - no pressures, just a training run. Felt great, ran with Dad nearly all the way and having more or less stuck to plan for first 10m of the race or so, we sped up and did the last few at sub-8mm pace to finish in a massive neg split! First 13.1km 1:07:40-ish, Second was therefore 1:04:15 ish!!!
Great day, ankle held out!!!

First England Kilomathon from Nottingham to Derby and organisation was good.
Aim was a controlled just sub 7 min mile all the way to help set Stratford Marathon PMP. Found the 1st half comfortable then started to feel the effort in the second half. Most of second half into the wind. Steadily overtook people all the way except for the last 300 yds when I did not have much left for the sprint and was passed by a few. Happy with as good day at the office, well set up for Stratford.
Can't believe I missed out on 2.30 by 14 seconds!
Went through 10k in 52 minutes and going pretty well but already feeling the effects of last weeks half marathon and by the time I got to Shardlow Road on the A6 I was really struggling.
May have to give this another go next year to beat my target of 2:30:00.
Didn't complete the race due to ill health, shouldn't have started in the first place
Never trained for this one and am now paying the price...
Calf strain and too heavy.
Great first race, good distance, lots of support & well organised
First negative split I'v run in a race of this distance.
2.38 at Stamford 30K.
2.30 should be achievable
Very enjoyable. Happy with the time.
A great run, though wind was a pain. Thank you to Imogen who supported me on the way around and helped keep me sane!
Had the tail end of cold so knew I wouldn't make my prediction, but the main thing is getting out there and doing it.
Great flat course, very good atmosphere all away round the course, lots of people out cheering us on. Really chuffed breaking the 2 hour mark.
1 hour 11 mins 13 secs at halfway. Thighs went around 22k and last 4k was tough. Comfortable enough up to that point and delighted with finishing time. Finishing position of 1586
want really sure how long it would take when I applied so I said 3 hours. At the start of the race I thought I might do 2hrs 30.
My first time at this distance.
Enjoyed the day as a whole. Good start and finish locations. Good route with a few inclines over roads and railways. Nice section through Elveston park from 18k to finish. I wished the water station with the gels could have made them more obvious though. By the time I realised they had some it was too lake (I don't like turning back) Energy drinks at 18k made up for it though and I was able to get to finish in one piece. Happy with time and obvious PB. As well as club record for the distance!!!
Really pleased with how it went. Had some sort of throat virus earlier in the week and felt really rough. Glad I perked up enough to run. Went out too quick. Strategy was to do 10 m/m for the first half then increase tempo. Did the first 4 miles at 9 m/m pace and this hit me at the 8 mile mark. But I did run all the way even though my body was telling me to stop with about 1 mile to go. Stoked.
Fantastic Race really well organised
Fab & mad race - the 'easy bit' of a marathon!
Pleased with this one with little training for it.
First ever reace I have entered.
Oh this was one of those days where you don't feel like you have it in you. Poor night sleep in hotel did not help. Run itself was ok, cold but dry. Only a few crowds but they were very supportive. Would definately do this one again. It was a good run to do pre-Marathon.
