Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

1st mile was a total bottleneck, due to narrow lanes cos some band called boyzone tried to take over our night. But once on scotswood rd the field spread out and i passed people all the way to the finish. Happy with time ,enjoyed race.Cooler weather than usual for this race.
RobK
Got a bad knee and 9 days after Edinburgh Mara.. I'm not expecting a great result
ForrestGump
Measured as 6.04 miles on watch - first time running amongst such a big crowd.
Black Cat
Good to see so many Fetchies. Enjoyed the race and finished before Maccasdad!
makizmo 82
Dead chuffed with my time despite athletics at the weekend and general lack of training. Will definitely be signing up for next year. Loved the live bands along the course.
Boab
Had a half decent run tonight considering the weekend and niggles. Dunno position, would be nice to make top 20 and get a cash prize, but will have to wait and see final results. Picked up about 10 places and lost two in the final mile. Happy enough, legs left a wee bit tired, probably from Marathon.
NotCat
Chuffed to bits - ran hard for first three then hung on. Would have gotten a big 10k pb but Blaydon is not about pb's - it's a celebration of the joy of racing.
Screeners
Am over the moon with this time, did not think I could run this fast. I was at work until 6 and then straight to Biggmarket from work, toilets then race so I didn't really have time to worry about the race or sit about and get sluggish. Felt strong, overtook throughout (I started in second wave), started struggling a bit from the bridge and feeling heavy legged but my old running coach was just behind me and every time I started slowing down, she started shouting at me and telling me to get a move on. Which is just what I needed. Last mile or so was tough going as my legs felt very jelly-ish but finished with a sprint and a smile. Am very happy.
batmouse
Hoping for a good time. Was a hot one last year. A bit cooler this???? This is my Garmin time. Will have to wait for the results for race time. Good run though my legs are still protesting a little after Edinburgh.
Oven Gloves
Ran with a painful hip injury (stupid).
Lisrun
A little chilly at the start. Ran with Jen. Enjoyed it much more than last year
northernrunner
a cooler race than the lasy few year, wasnt planning or expecting much here as had a sore leg last few days but somehow managed to pull off a good time and finished 36th
jazz
Enjoyed the event but would have preferred to have ran stronger particularly over the last mile
Old Croc
Looking forward to another return visit to N East - and meeting some fetchies down there. 42;22 on my watch, race clock said about 42:50, await offishul reesults. Fishul result says 42.57 - yippee
MuddyIdiot
Awfishaal results! That'll larn me to start reet near the back like!!!!
Miss Sweden
I'll be running this 9 days after the Edinburgh marathon, so I won't be setting the world on fire :) I did it in 51 mins last year so anything around the 55 mark would be good.

Ended up running this with a newby friend, her first race. So took it really slowly, which was great for my legs. I also really enjoyed this run, being able to just run with no pressure :)
Robsta
Just gannin canny been back a week from a long achilles injury it's a game of cat n mouse between me and it! 47 might be a bit hopeful but we'll see.
All things considered pleased with time given the amount of training, eased up a little because achilles tightened but only very slight ly and held til the end so Im really upbeat about that, fitness levels not great but at least I can work on that now, well done everyone.
Running Beard
Bit unsure of time as forgot running watch - but just happy to have got round without agravating calf/ankle injury
Heelandcoo
First time for this race. Where was the song? Legs felt ok after Edinburgh and could really feel the extra fitness from all the marathon training.
Patonian
Did much better than expected. First mile in 7.55 and three miles 24.25. Ran well and now for the rest of the season?
macca 53
ran whole race in Pose mode with constant rythm. Wednesday morning not as many aches in calves as previous runs - it's getting better!
monsenb1
Felt a bit sluggish, ran an easy first mile, but still made my target time of 50 mins so quite pleased. The sun wasnt shining but conditions were good for running...nice to meet the fetchies before and after the race. Time is now official.
alisterrobson
44.10 unofficial.
