I am fundraising for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity

I've run two Great North Runs in memory of my baby sister, Ava who was stillborn after a perfect pregnancy. With the help of some fine Fetchies, friends, family and colleagues I've raised over £2,000 for Sands, a charity which supports anyone affected by the death of a baby and promotes research that could help to reduce the loss of babies' lives.

About Me

I started running as part of a keep fit drive in September 2008. I could barely manage a mile when I started, but somewhere along the way I got the bug.
In a year I went from 0 miles to 13.1, completing my first Great North Run in 2009. In 2010, I ran it again in memory of my baby sister Ava who was stillborn and raised money for Sands, a charity which helps families affected by stillbirth and neonatal death. I finally achieved my goal of running a sub 2 hour half marathon at the 2011 Great North Run 2011.
My main target for 2012 has been to get to grips with open water swimming and complete my first open water sprint triathlon, which I did with a huge smile.
I love all aspects of training, and am a big fan of kettlebells. I also enjoy writing and reading, good food and travelling.
