Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

2nd Mara... training will start more in advance this time.
DJ Bangey
Training was going well, then shin splints hit. Still going to run but now the goal is just to complete the race in not to much pain, then take a break.
Update: went as badly as expected, no training, bad cold / man flu, bad nights sleep & then getting the runs mid race meant 4 comfort breaks. Wanted to quit but had a few words with myself and kept going to the end, but didn't enjoy the 2nd half.

I have been encouraged to run this by 2 pals who are both aiming and entered for 3:50, realistically i have put 4:18 as my target having run 4:24 for Dublin 2008, 4:29 London 2009
The Alchemist
Very pleased with this PB. Well-organised event but without the charm of Paris or the raw excitement of New York. That's probably more to do with the weather though. Rained all the time and cold.
ScudULike
The elusive Sub-4 is still elusive!! Still delighted with knocking 12 mins off my previous PB. And just how wet can a race be!!!!!
racheybabes
Sooooo painful - my achilles went with 12k to go :-(
Vikksen
wet, cold, crowded....but loved it ! and a PB to boot. Highly recommended.
tazzzman
Pissed down all day and felt thouroghly miserable. Feet were soaked, got cramp and a stomach was playing up. Other than that I had a lovely time!
cityrunner
A great marAthon but a lot of rain! Very chuffed with my timing.
runningbean
What a fantastic race this is.
jeronimo
wet!
SueW
My hope rather than my predication was sub 4:30 but still fairly pleased with 4:32. 4 ultras and a marathon in a very busy year with training seriously compromised means that 4:32 was a fair reflection on work in = results out!

Well organised event but with crush potential. I elbowed my way out of teh middle of teh pack just before the start and went right to the back of my group. I was a bit scared that if someone fell, tehre would be a serious crushing incident. Great crowd suport in pouring rain.
Just Buzzing
Very wet - rained for the whole race
JamesTrev
1st Marathon so was pretty chuffed with the time. Right calf cramped up in last mile so hobbled about for few days after. Took lucozade gel every 5 miles which seemed to keep the energy levels up. Stopped at every water station which proved to be a good move. Not sure which marathon to do next but will give it a few months.
Davie Bhoy
Very Wet, GPS packed up at start line so unsure of pace througout
