Yay Im in ...an excellent piece of superb timing got me a running pass. Was going to do Bath or Hastings but Id rather support MicknPhil.
Setting up on Saturday and whatever on Sunday.
This one was a disaster for me, think the recent marathon and 20 m pb races, and upping the miles caught up with me.:(
Great to see so many fetchies though.:)
Brilliant race, lots of fun, really well organised. Thank you!
Great race with loads of fantastic Fetchies running, marshalling, drinks stationing and supporting...Happy days. Pretty happy with the result considering the wind, I think I may have got my prediction on a still day.
Happy to PB despite a really vicious ands brutal wind.
1st half marathon for a long time....slightly scared!
Excellent event, excellent marshals, testing weather towards the end. How tough was that last mile!
Just short of a PB, but pleased with my time given the windy conditions. A memorable event, well done to everyone involved in organising it.
Running 3m@10m/m before the start hopefully timing it spot on to join the race just as it starts and using it as a LSR and a chance to meet and chat to a few fetchies on the way around.
Entered. Got number. Adding on extra miles at the start as part of a SLR. Saving it for Silverstone!
was on track for a pb until the horizontal hail kicked in!!!!! But had a great day... loved it!
Tough conditions!!! The forecast 16-21 knot winds were very much in evidence and made the undulating section on the far side very challenging. Mile splits tell the story of the wind more than anything else.
Chuffed to bits with a PB - had to work pretty hard for it though!!!
Was never on for a PB. The target was to enjoy the day and get some miles in. In that respect we managed both. Good day. Conditions not the best for PB breaking. Well done to everyone who gave up their time to organise the event.
Well, I'd like a sub-2, but it's really not looking likely.
hmmmm... got bit carried away with buzzin atmosphere :D ...took poorly body for little run... sunshine was lovely, wind worked against (especially on hilly bits) oh and horizontal rain for final mile was such a neat extra challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*might* have pinned on a number too
Mile 8 - String headwind slowed me down. After 10 miles it all went wrong! Placed 62nd out of 288
Provisional watch time. Thanks very much to the marshals, who must have been freezing!
Wind hindered time!!
Not sure how i will run this, maybe as a MP run for FLM or maybe a PB attempt?
Great event and run. Lovely to meet so many lovely people.
New pb too which considering that wind was pleasing, finished 8th.
Has to be done
What a great event! An impeccably-organised race that could almost make me love Draycote Water, lots of Fetchies, a fantastic atmosphere, cake. Loved it!
I knew I wasn't in PB form - threw myself at sub-1:45 pace from the start but only managed to sustain it for the first half, partly due to the increasingly lively weather but mostly due to my decreasingly lively legs. I don't regret trying, though :o)
I did a 1.45.51 or something as I managed to stop my Garmin for 0.62 miles around the 5.70 mile mark (what a plum) - a PB thou - Cant wait for actual race results...will update from them. Oh PB pushed back by another 4 seconds.
A PB in that wind I'm really chuffed. Lousy last mile but who cares.
Great race, great cause, great organisation, super people. Thank you to all the marshals who were superb.
Felt good to race on tarmac again, and right heel seemed ok. One routine pit-stop, which may have got away with. Did me world of good after Knight Rider letter of yesterday; shit that it was, I have to say an excellent letter.
Proud to know Mick and Phil, neighbours reallly.
WELL DONE FETCH!!!
Ultra Sparkly Bridget (USB)
Well I knew I had a pb in me but did even better than I predicted
I've paid. Hurrah! Now, to arrange getting there. England? That's down on the map, isn't it? *Result: wow, that was amazing. Hunners of fetchies! Thanks so much for great event, marshalling, timing, signing, bag drop, transport etc all flawless. and hugs galore! Oh, and a PB! fetchland! * :-)G
FETCH-TASTIC !! Lovely Fetchies everywhere, excellent organisation, super marshalling, yummy cakes post-race - what more could one want?? Oh yes, and a PB, wahey
Steady 1h30 pace planned ahead of Stratford 3h15 attempt.
Splits: 6.24 6.49 6.56 6.35 6.38 6.38 6.46 7.04 13.10 6.26 6.31 6.46 0.42 (9&10miles combined)
Was wondering how ot play it after slight cough/cold... went for it and ran well. Happy, but will see how recovery goes.
Well organised, fantastic race
windy & steady
Very windy and open, not as flat as expected either. Last lap a struggle especially as the wind seemed to get stronger and the rain started.
Excellent organisation and very enjoyable despite the weather.
Same again next year?
Garmin time 1:49:20. Ran as a training run with a few quicker miles at the end. Great event, top marks for everyone involved. Oh and it was a bit windy.
Really really want 2 hours or less but Im notup to form. With my current pace I should do it if I keep energy levels up and dont go crazy at the start.
run as the second of back to back long runs so pleased to get comfortably under 2 hours
Really did not enjoy this.
Things have been going well in training but I seem to loose it all on race day.
To top it off I had some kind of weird asthma-like attack after the race. Never happend before, hope it never happens again. GP is being less than helpful.
