About The Club

We are a small, friendly club which caters for people who enjoy running. Our members take part in a wide range of races – road, track and hill of varying distance, from Parkruns to ultras - or just enjoy running in the company of others in the local area. The standard is wide and whatever speed you run, jog or plod at, there will be good company for you.

We meet twice a week at the old Loch Leven Health centre car park. Wednesday night training (from 7pm - 8pm) for speed work usually involves running short distances around a prescribed circuit. In the summer, we also meet at Kirkgate Park on Tuesday nights. This training is organised by the club coaches and everybody runs at their own pace. This type of training is aimed to improve speed at all distances. We also meet at 9am on Sunday when runs tend to be longer and sometimes off-road. There are usually enough people to form small groups running different distances. These runs help to improve endurance.

The highlight of the Club’s year is the Loch Leven Half Marathon. The 34th Loch Leven Half Marathon will be held in May 2017. The race is renowned as “one of the best half marathons in Scotland” and the route takes you round the scenic shores of Loch Leven on gently undulating roads.

Tuesday
Over the summer months (April to September) we meet on Tuesday evenings at 7pm for speed training, except the first Tuesday of the month which meets at Lathro (by the swimming pool) at 7pm for the 2mile time trial followed by hot chocolate
Wednesday
On a Wednesday evening we meet at Lathro at 6:45 for a trail run. These are generally around 5-6miles and we finish around 8pm. For further information on the exact route and time we will be meeting, please refer to the training schedule on the club website.
Sunday
We also meet at 9am on Sunday when runs tend to be longer and sometimes off-road. There are usually enough people to form small groups running different distances. These runs help to improve endurance.
