Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Cavey Rubbish!!!

I don't know whether it was the heat, the hills or the lack of training this summer but I fely lousy from the start. Learnt a very important lessonsa though, and thats you can't take 13.1 miles lightly! Shall not be making that mistake again.

Was good to meet loads of Fetchies though. You normally see the odd one at races but it was like a mass Fetch-athon!

Right better get back to some proper training now!!

Craggy Predicted time went out the window when I developed a cold on Friday, hence I have to be happy with sub 80.
Enjoyed the new course - if a little hilly. Excellent organisation - a top race.

fraggle Hot hot hot and hilly hilly hilly! Was aiming to go under 2hr10, and 2.05 at a push, but defeated by heat and hills. So both pleased and disappointed - will live to fight another day.

Haggis 2 My First ever half, this was the start of my running career.....i was very proud to get under 2 Hrs for my first ever, the hill through the Uni grounds at mile 9 was a tad unfair....but so happy at the end.

Highlanderchick It took ages to cross the start line. The day was another hot one. This is probably the busiest race I have entered so far. I enjoyed the route and it had some cheeky hills thrown in for good measure, especially not long after the start and through the University Campus grounds. Plenty of water and lucozade was handed out on route. The above time is the Gun time, my chip time was 1 hr 57 mins 41 secs which is a new PB for me. I also ran with a possible broken toe after a heavy wooden bench was dropped on it the day before the race. It is twice it's normal size and some lovely shades of blues and blacks. Thankfully the painkillers saw me through the race.

Hills of Death (HOD) I'M CONFUSED it now says 1.56.32 GUN TIME and 1.54.48 CHIP TIME ????

Not sure what happened here as not on website for time didn't stop the whole way more hilly than I expected. Not a day for PBs course or weather. Lots of people getting in way at start at 3 miles people walking up slight hills way causing congestion I wish people would start in right places it took ages to get a clear run. Santa pasted me at 7 miles sureal !
Well done Fetchys especially those who did the full quota I would not of fancied that !! Good to bump into Cavey and Disco beforehand well done lads that wasn't easy.

Wizlyn great pb you've got got Kwame really worried now he's 3 mins behind you.

SPKoF dont like this race. too crowded costing time at the start. new route adds more hills.

I've agreed to run as one of the Pacers for the race so as close to 2hrs as possible is the target now.

(well, it is free entry and free shirt & shorts!)

Not too far off the time I was supposed to run at so cant complain.
At 10 miles I looked at my watch and did think to myself - 'I should be finishing now'

wizlyn Big PB!! Ecstatic to beat my Reading time (1:33) on a hilly course and warm day. Great race, well organised, more water than you'd know what do with...

Really wasn't expecting to go so fast - just settled quickly and felt great.

Now for Berlin in 2 weeks time...

Zeb I would love to do this within two hours, but I don't think it's going to happen. As it's my first half marathon I'll be pleased to get round. UPDATE - timing approx, but very close to predicted time. Felt really rough for first mile and between 5 and 7, but the university section flew by. My first half marathon but not my last.
