Huzzah, nearly a minute PB Bit bumpy, this one...... Great race, apart from slightly congested start (but we all knew about that). Chip timing too. Recommended.
162 of 707 overall, 24th of 258 ladies, 9th of 65 senior ladies
decent run for the most part but blew up in 8th mile losing over 40 seconds and PB (1:08.59) found something to push for last half a mile but all too late. 2 seconds out. tough 10 miler this - 90% up hill
A strong wind and some ups and downs meant I didn't think this was going to be the day to break the hour. Company between 4-8 miles really made the difference and so to dip just under 60 mins and win the County V40 title was an unexpected but good start to the year : )
As before, pretty windy and hilly with long drag around mile 6. Garmin watch strap broke so had to carry in gel belt, and with the faffing around decided to ease off and just enjoy the nice scenery, though someone decided to plough a motorway through the middle...
Sick when finished! Tough course - lot of up and down. Reasonable effort even if passed by couple of my peers!
First 10 miler on way
Target met on undulating course
Ran under Phil Jacob's number!
Enjoyed the race, paced too conservatively again! Finished last mile in 6.12 so could have pushed a bit more from mile 4 onwards
