Rach E WTF!!!!!! Totally unexpected to get a 35 second PB in present shape. Very very happy. Entered as a last minute decision. 3rd lady to Hartney (36:14) & Gee (36:43). This was undoubtedly the best 10k I have ever run - I felt so good the whole way round. Now to get the legs moving faster!! manicstreetpounder Hoping for under 39 mins - if recent race times and training are anything to go by. But I'll happily settle for anything under 40 mins. UPDATE: Well pleased with time. Found the right pace early on, so basically just dug in for the whole race. Unaffiliated 37:04 38:07 39:59 38:23 70.42

Shinfield 10K report....

Jnr wanted to run in the 3k so no issues...... Oh but there were, first of all the marshalls were poor, on route into site, no marshalling just chatting with friends, or on mobiles or hands in pockets. Parked up and asked where to register for the 3k for Jnr,.... Dont Know!, asked another down at the main hall.... got to the main hall, I dont Know, may be down at the pavillion, well we had just been sent up from there..... then we found out the problem.... the two races were being organised by 2 sets of organisations, even thogh billed on the same event....... But in the end got him registered and off to the start, where more mass confusion regined.... off went the gun, no times for the race as wasnt timed officially even though there were about 50 club jnrs running most of whom were not too happy..... jnr came round to finish in about 10th in 12:34, so he is happy overall.

Quick warm up for me and a chat with Gobi and Rach before the start, met up with BOTF from the 3:30 thread too.

Then off........

4:12 and uphill start.....
4:06 finding space and rythem, but not feeling too good, BOTF is 30m ahead
3:53 I though I was slowing so must have been short, really not in the mood for this.
4:16 Feel like Im keeping the same pace, either the markers are out of I CBA.....
4:20 This is hard work 1/2 way in 20:48
4:07 and better pacing and closing in on other runners now, starting to feel better.
4:08 consistancy shining through
4:16 feeling strong yet watch is saying slow, pass more runners and catching BOTF
4:01 away and off, speed at last it has take 5m pass BOTF who sticks with me
4:04 Im home at last..... not feeling great but done and dusted. (2nd 5k 20:36 so neg split)
41:26 on the watch to finish, not a bad race once got going, but the organisation before and after wasnt the best, but worth going and only 2 days after doing 20:25 at WCTT, so pretty happy with the days showing and as ever a proud Dad.

Gobi and Rach both had good results too, but will let them state their times / reports.

Waveydavey Wnt off too fast and faded in second half. Was 21 dead for 5K. After that, was just dead. Reading Roadrunners 40:49 42:46 43:36 63.83
Agent Orange This is my watch time from gun to finish. Didn't see where the starting line was but as I've broken 45 mins, I don't care about the 10 or so seconds I missed by not getting a precise personal time! Cycled to the start in rain but by race time conditions were perfect. A very crowded and slow start but fortunately that cleared up inside about 400m then I ran a hard but steady race. Managed 22.09 for the first 5km, thanks to a nice downhill section in km3 and a longish but not too tough hill in km 5. Then gritted my teeth and pushed on. Lost 10 seconds when my hat was snagged in some bushes but probably more than made up for that by my determination to get back to where I was in the race. Second 5km slightly slower - 22.31 but even that's a pretty reasonable split. Thanks to Konaboy for recommending the race. Unaffiliated 43:42 43:42 46:00 44:41 62.28

CR1970 A PB by over 50secs!! I really didn't think I was going to be able to get under 50 mins so really pleased. Great run, quite flat just one longish hill at 4K. Unaffiliated 47:06 48:45 51:00 48:45 62.35
GAZGIB I have no idea what went wrong, just fat and unfit I guess. Have got loads more races booked so will hopefully chip away at the SB which won't be difficult. If all goes well PBs again in 2010. Bracknell Forest Runners 42:54 49:08 50:00 52:24 51.29

Sid Clock time as my Garmin died just before the race! Really pleased with this result as I didn't plan to get a PB. Last year I tore my calf muscle just after the start of the race and because of this, I got really nervous and decided to take the race nice and slowly. At the 8K marker - I changed my mind and went for it. Sandhurst Joggers 43:20 49:50 49:50 61.97
MadJonny Used this as a bit of a fitness test rather than flat out race and pleased with 51 mins. Hope to speed up a bit over the summer. Did first half in 26-20 so big negative split. Heat was not too oppressive. Unaffiliated 48:17 50:09 51:00 53.00

Winky! Well, depending on where the start line was I finished somewhere between 50mins 45secs and 51mins 15seconds!!! Either way I've gained myself another PB by a minimum of 1min 27seconds!!!! SUPER! Bit muggy for running today but generally enjoyed it and did not feel like I was cranking it too hard! Thanks to the guy who worked hard as my unofficial pacer! I lost a few places through the 'funnel' system at the end so I think my gun time will be marked as considerably slower than the 51mins 50ish I think it was.

Well done Welly, your bet came in!
