Three days after Eddy. Was aiming for 7mm which I didn't quite make.
Felt good - must be doing too many "mile" races as the "Km" markers were flying past Had to slow myself down when I saw a 4.22 / Km come up on the Garmin. Splits :4:42, 4:36, 4:31, 4:22, 4:29, 4:31, 4:34, 4:35, 4:41, 4:22, 0:12 Solid run - did get pipped in a sprint finish by another Covie. Did get a PB by 49 sec - a (proper) sub 45 will soon be mine.....maybe Saturday....
I was right to be pessimistic about getting a PB this time. Never really got near the pace. Ran yet another positive split even though I deliberately tried to set out slower (18:38 1st 5K; 18:52 2nd 5K). But didn't get passed at all from memory from about 2K onwards and picked off quite a few - so pleased from that point of view after what happened at this year's FLM.
Felt a bit tired to start having spent all day in meetings. Decided to target 46 mins. Started to feel a bit stronger in the last couple of miles but didn't really push. I was in one of my adverse to pain moods.
Prof Disco Dean
ideal conditons for pb happy days!
On for sub 45 pace until half way, ran out of steam. I blame the turbo X on Sunday.
Great race as always, good atmosphere and organising.
Started too fast, felt sooo confident, died by 7km, gonna nail Race 2
Not as fast as I'd hoped for, but didn't have the best prep at all during the day. Still, happy enough with another solid run and got first senior lady which is excellent to have for the rest of the series :o) Bring on the next one...
