What’s the best bit of advice that you would give to new runners, bikers and swimmers? One bad run does not mean it's not for you. I don't know much about bikes - carry a spare inner tube? Swimming is great therapy for sore runners' legs :) |

Thought I'd do some mile reps for a change. Midway through the second I wondered why on earth that had seemed a good idea!! My aim was to run the reps at roughly 5k race pace - which was more or less achieved. I walked the recovery until my heart rate was back in zone 1 and then jogged.

Opted for the Garmin suggestion - 8 x 10 second sprints - target pace 4.40 min/mile (yeah right!!).
I'm still not entirely convinced of the merit of these sessions, the Garmin suggests them a lot, but there is something to said for blasting away for 10 seconds. That said, the terrain wasn't always great and it was getting dark or dark, and I was a little nervous of face-planting. I only scored about 68% for completion so the coach on my wrist wasn't that impressed!! YWK - 30 min morning yoga - At Home Yoga to feel Great. This was definitely intermediate insofar as the pace was quite swift so I did need to watch the video as some of the poses were new. It had some really good stretches in though. Some modification required early on as Bonnie insisted on taking part. Final relaxation enlivened by her bringing her bone alongside my right ear and enthusiastically gnawing.
