![]() Former BioMedical Scientist, worked in Microbiology at Papworth Hospital, and learned lots about the human body and its processes. Had to cope with several major health problems over a couple of years, now trying to get back to some kind of reasonable health condition. Try to help wherever I can. Forecast was for rain, heavy at times, start with a light breeze increasing at 8am to a very strong breeze of nearly 30mph. Reality - after torrential rain at 5am, it was dry for the first 1h30m when a shower arrived. Dry when I left St. Ives and stayed that way until I got back to my village when a light shower started. After Sunday's not dreadful 4 miles run, I thought I'd try another 3 or 4 miles run into Cambridge, with walks before and after, or getting a bus back if necessary. Woken up at 04:58 by a neighbour banging their front door, then banging their car door, before driving off noisily. so I thought I'd try an early run before it got warm and while I couldn't do any noisy work at home.
Not sure what to call this - not a TT because I wasn't attempting that, possibly a tempo but I wasn't trying in the 1st mile (first part was about 12:30mm pace!). Found I was running properly, if somewhat ungainly, rather than the shuffling of the last couple of years. Must have been the drills and mobilisation movements I did after the walking warm up, or perhaps I should do early runs! Whichever, it felt a relief to move properly for once.
