Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

A totally unexpected PB. I'm genuinely stunned.

Perhaps there is something to this "short session gym bunny" training, coupled with eating loads of sweets and pastries. Stuff schedules - run free lol.
Lycra Hurricane
Generally comfortable for the whole race, although I started off too briskly and went to sleep in the middle. As a result I was unable to attach at the end. Repeat afer me, it was training for the marathon...
april_runner
To test speed before sub 3.30 marathon attempt.
Alopex
My first half of the year, & the venue of my half marathon debut last year. It's flat, but busy. I should go sub 1:40, but a lot depends on the recovery from a long training run the week before, & the game of rugby the day before.
icemaiden
Unfinished business here.

Very windy and I suffered between miles 9 and 12. Will probably be back again.
Long Shanks
All going well until the headwind hit at miles 7-11. Hard slog from then on but still got a PB.
Martyn Fisher
Would like to go under 1:45. In fact, I'd like to go under 1:43 and get a PB, but that's unlikely. I'll do my best.

Post Race - good time, given I've had flu for most of the last two weeks, but would have preferred sub 1:45. Going well until 8 miles, then died a bit. Capable of better.
Smoggy
First half-Marathon! Aimed for steady 8'00" miles after suffering with knee injury until a week or so before the event so entered slightly under prepared! Exceeded expectations by finishing in 1:41:48, 3 minutes inside my estimated finish time! Thrilled with my time and enjoyed the day immensely!
Adrian
Missed a PB by 14 seconds. I will return.
Lieutenant Lucerne
Slower than last year and a bit slower than expected; which seems to be in line with how 2008 has started for me. The fourth time I have run this and as ever the 9th mile, with its undulations was the slowest. The 10th and part of the 11th mile into the wind were hard going. The small bridge over the canal during mile 11 is always harder than it should be (I'm sure I saw a large bright green model of a dinosaur at this point).
Mr BDR
Felt great, and demolished my previous PB!!!
BDR
Just completed my first half today (Bedford half) and decided to enter MK half today too!! Looking forward to a reasonably flat course and hopefully I can beat my one and only half time.
DanG
Prediction based on good FLM training and a positive outcome of Watford 4 weeks before this. If I get the prediction here I will be feeling good about a sub 4 at London. Good Luck to everyone in their training!!!!

Felt crap as still full of cold and had sickness yesterday. Pleased to have finished race in one piece!
CanaryYellow
I have run 2 absolute stinker half marathons in MK, 3rd time lucky i guess. *RACE EDIT* Almost forgot about the bloody hump backed bridge. Thought i had set off slowly, eveidently it was sub 2 pace. Paid for that exuburance in the last 5k but pleased to have banished the Mk demon and managed a half decent run around the place.
jangles
I finished !!
Hash
Sorry, Raps, I did try!
PhilPub
A pb by nearly 4 mins. Absolutely chuffed! Running the whole race with someone with the same goal (and form) makes such a difference. Nice one Dave! (Or was it the new orange shorts?) Here's looking forward to Paris.
Vitalstatistix
Recovering from injury...hope to get round in one piece in 6:30-ish pace...accomplished, but with a sore foot still...
Mattw4de
if i take off the 25 seconds to 1h37 i will be happy, anything quicker is fantastic but not required..

Well So much for my theory, I blitzed it - Had loads left at end & got a bit bored of the change of direction & all those bridge underpass' Really didn't like that Hump Back Bridge or the Bridge over the Main Road. Paths were a bit narrow at times when snaking through Housing estates & proved challenging to overtake. All together an enjoyable day, great spectator support along all the route also..
E
Quite windy. Could possibly have done slightly better but was worried about injured leg, didn't want to do too much damage.
BrianJ
Not really feeling right for this one, had a bad headache beforehand, but after a few miles started to feel better and decided to forget about a PB and just run it for fun. Last mile was fastest and felt fine at the end.
JovialGnome
Flat course, very windy but good fun and nothing hurts too much!
Lakes
THat was tough today but I guess that's because I ran a bit faster than I'd planned.
Jon Berry
Hope to do better than 1:40, but depends on the weather. If all goes well hope to do a PB.
DrBob
bloody excellent race, felt good all the way except for cramping calves, finished feeling strong and bouncy.
SUPERWOMAN63
Ran this last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. this year l struggled from halfway and then had a PAINFUL STITCH with 500m to go was l glad to reach the finish line. I have got over how disaapointed l felt with my run and realise that you can't run well all of the time and now that l realise that l feel so much better and ready to focus on my next race.
gbrodie
My first half marathon, just please to finish!
Big Jules
Ugh! Nightmare of a race. Completely naff. Did well up to 7 miles, good pace etc etc then (not sure what) but lost it ... totally. Concentration went, negativity stepped in and, the rest is history. Worst ever half marathon time. Gutted.
Turkhish
Apart from running into a bollard after about 3 miles and making myself look like a real clown I was glad to finish and struggled quite badly after 15k - although i did set off far too quickly and paced myself quite poorly!
Jezzo
A great run - nice and interesting scenery and very tempting to drop into one of the pubs that you run past!
