That ditch was still tricky to negotiate Clare, especially 3rd time round – what it is like with a few feet of ice cold water in heaven alone knows, but I can’t say that I was sorry to not find out

MACCL done for the year now, pretty pleased to be 15th in the v45-49 cat despite overall declining form. I'm never going to be a big XC enthusiast for it's own sake, but it's definitely a means to an end of keeping up the fitness over the winter a little!

Is that the Uni team WS? They looked super strong when warming up at Heaton Park, doing hill reps I seem to recall a couple of hours before the races!

That'll be them, they don't mess about. Amazingly, they never quite get their full teams out, especially the men, they have so many comps to go to. A few Uni ones, Isle of Man, BUCS, Edinburgh etc., so they are a bit thin at MACCL, this last 2 MACCL meetings in particular! They have already started to ask me to turn them into milers for the summer!
