Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

What length spikes are folks going for on Sat for the National? It could be quite dry all week and hot on the day looking at forecast...

I seem to remember it being a little boggy in places when the Northerns were there last year, and not manicured grass. I'm not there, but if I was going I'd have been taking the usual 12mm/15mm spikes that I have, but with some shorter options in my bag just in case it was rock hard.

Enjoyed it too. Great course, not for me time-wise but loved that it was just 2 laps, the views and the massive kites (if that is what they were) circling above. I should maybe have got my head down and run a bit harder but the finish straight was the only flat bit. The ground was rock hard and my glass ankles rebelled at the tufty descents

Yes the Red Kites! I got a pic of one after:

Those descents were perfect, I didn't struggle to find a line of see owt. Wore xtalon in the end which were prefect.

I have seen some videos. The starts look tremendous. I should go along one day. A small Stockport team turned up and a few of mine who ran well....

The starts are always tremendous WS!

I believe that it is at Wollaton next year, so home ground for me and reasonably central for everyone else. If the course from last time is anything to go by it will be lots of laps, no massive hills, mostly runnable but with some short sections of ridiculous comedy mud

The last two at Wollaton have been great fun, not too difficult until the last lap when the mud can get you. Prefered footwear waders.

Watching the World XC on catch up, very good, decent commentary and course.
