We had no rain but loads of wind at Eton today. I was about 3 minutes quicker than last year so very happy! Did take a big fall though and my hip really hurts now.

Thanks, and good work in all your XCs everyone. Hope your hip is better soon CW
We also have a 5 miler next week (the men do 7) a one off Championship event in Wolverhampton. I've seen a screenshot of the weather forecast for next Sat with a snowflake next to it. Still it's a long way off yet!

Best turn out for an XC in years. that's about a quarter of the whole club!

Wow that turnout is impressive. We have about 150 members with approx 50/50 split men/women but we really struggle to get people out for XC. Club spirit and morale is good and we do have some real speedies, not sure what the issue is. One thing I guess is that it often takes 1h+ to drive to these venues sometimes 2h if the traffic is bad, so when you meet at 11 to get there in time, only run 5-6K if you are a lady, watch the men's race, help put the tent down etc it can be 5pm before you get home. Long day even if you don't have that many other commitments.

Ah, you run different races for men and woman. We all run together so we set off from base at 9:45am, 11am race and are home by 1pm.

I wouldn't run XC if I had to pretend to be a lady
