Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I have New Balance - also same size as road shoes but much snugger - I was very glad I hadn't gone down a size!

Thanks. Sounds like they make them snugger to account for how you'd need them to fit.

Despite having run some decent parkrun times on off road parkruns recently, I'd forgotten how knackering even an simple XC course is *coughs*

Same for Adidas - my spikes are the same size as road shoes, but a much snugger fit.

Still two weeks 'til our first xc league match

I go a size up from road shoes because women's spikes are narrow in my experience. I prefer them to not bash my feet anymore than wearing them already does (we have lots of stone + mud courses in Surrey that are a spikes nightmare!)

You could always go sockless, I know a number of people who do because they get less slip between foot and shoe. I tried it once and ripped several large blisters on my toes, I guess I'm to old to try something new like that!

oi you
1st race, yesterday, in the Kent League on a very flat, very dry new course. I finished 199th of 202. Not quite last place yet then.
17th of 18 M60s wasn't the best start to my defence of my M60 title ;-)

My first ever xc not in spikes. Found only one puddle on the course, which I bounced into gleefully each lap whilst others minced around avoiding it. Trainers were dry enough to wear on bike ride home. 2 mins quicker than last year but 140 places further back. Crazy.

Surrey League for me on Saturday. Great team effort sees us in provisional 4th place (of 15 teams). Far too flat for me, but did wear spikes as a fully grass course.

Southern XC Relays this Saturday. Only 3k. I may die ;)

Well done oi you and rhb on your outings.
