Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Mablethorpe 10K...47m:46s (new PB). Excellent time when you consider I had to actually stop 3 times and do some stretches for my stiff glutes during the run. Really please with the result... :-)

I had an awful run this morning. 11 mile LSR following programme for half marathon. Never felt so ill after a run ever. I have done this before so know I can do it, but felt faint, sick, raised heart rate the works. Took the rest of the morning to start to feel a little better. My whole body stills aches, but much better than it was. I am just hoping it is not the start of a bug or something. Enjoyed it up to 9 miles though!!

Pretty good. First time I've run 10k so good to know I can do it as my first 10k race is in 2 weeks. Low point though is my lovely trainers (Asics so I know I'm not alone) gave me my first blisters. I've done a few 9ks in them with no problem but by about 8k today they were rubbing.

Great, went to the Southampton boat show yesterday with my cousin, he's thining of buying, got home knackered drank a lot of beer and wine, ate a huge chilli, thought I'd pay for it this morning. Got up early, coffee and a couple of biscuits and of I went with Thomas and put in a good seven miles all in one hour.

Stirling 10K. Literally soaked to the skin. But runwise, great. Controlled all the way. Finished strongly. There does seem to be a bit of post-saturation chafage though...

D. No one likes P-S C.

Struggled to be honest on a LSR (14miler, just over two hours). I chose a poor route, basically down, then up my local A road, which is on an escarpment. I really struugled with the 7 mile climb (downhill was a doddle though). Need a few more (longer) LSR's before NYC, but I should be ok.

Race was OK. It's quite nice, in a perverse sort of way, to feel disappointed with 19th place :)

But 5k is a very unsatisfying sort of distance and my legs had just had their appetite whetted for a proper run. So I went out and let them have 8 miles of doing whatever they wanted this evening. It was too fast to be a maintenance run, too slow to be speedwork or even a tempo run, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
