Ultra Kazzaaaaah!!
Right, I'll try this again - bliddy wireless router!
Most enjoyable run. 12 miles (furthest for a long time) followed by 16.9km cycle. Still well behind on Beachy plan but feel a lot happier than I did.

Cheers Blister.
Try not to beat yerself up mate, I know it's hard not to but I look at it like what I did is what I was going to get today regardless. I would have liked better but we can always do better.
In other words, not crap, just not quite what you wanted

Mind you, apparently the course is about 100m long and that would make sense from my last km split which was about 10 seconds slower than any other, despite the fact I sped up and put a good effort in at the end in the last km.

Why do we all worry about courses being long? They are all long to a certain extent. They have to be. And its easy to run an extra bit just because most of us aren't cynical enough to follow the shortest possible route (there'd be too much roadkill)
I had a fun run today. But I got to 5 k and was suddenly absolutely kn*ckered.

Maybe it wasn't long but look at my splits (I ran really hard on the last km and did sprint finish) and see for yourself: 3.27 (too fast!), 3.45, 3.49, 3.45, 3.54.

That is true in my case actually Snaps. The field was about the most crowded I have raced. Loads of people were in the sub 1:30 area and I was passing loads of people for most of the race. I'd say without exaggeratin that thousands of folk started off muvh too far up front. However, this maybe wasn't helped by teh organisers telling everyone to move up to the front too. Basically too many people for the course I reckon...
BUT there you go, it was what it was and I ran what I ran and that's all there is to it.
I enjoyed myself and that's what matters.
Good run mr Bee
Snaps, did you set off too fast?

3rd race since starting running - a (very) hilly 12.5k - was 1st at the end of the main hilly section (3.5k), but couldn't hold on to 3 runners who caught me - finished a minute behind the winner, beating last years time by over 4minutes. Met a couple of Fetchies as well, which was nice. Pretty pleased
