I had brandy and apricot cake ![]() Despite not feeling great last week I had a good run (100 position improvement on two years ago!), but not as good as it could have been if I had been 100%. The cold shower in the lido afterwards just topped it off for craziness ![]() I do wonder about how much longer the men will do 9 miles Oi You... it just seems a touch too brutal, 7.5 would be far enough. |

oi you
Nice running Curly. 100 places is pretty good going. There's a chance the distances may change sooner rather than later. The IAAF have standardised at 10k for both men and women, and we're switching to their rule book soon. I don't think our distances must change, but I'd guess they will. |

Ah but the SEAA are quite stubborn about doing things their way so we will see. I would be happy to do 10k but in the womens we would lose a lot of shorter distance track runners (5miles XC is already a bit far for them). Would make our fields a lot smaller I think...at least for the first few years.

Cheers HOD - I haven't been feeling 100% so was pleased to beat a few of my usual nemisis', not as good as I could have done given the course suits me and if I had been 100%, but not a disaster by any means. Well done to all of you crazy 9 milers ![]() |

Hi Oi you, sadly I was unable to run the Southern's due to a pulled adductor but I watched the U15 boys race first and then my son in the U13 boys. He said it was really tough but he enjoyed it and had a good race. I'm going to enter again next year, hopefully it'll still be 9 miles long and I'll be injury free! Ran the last Fitness League yesterday and got my best result of the season, final Kent League on Saturday and then it's an eight month wait for the new XC season to begin! |

We have our last Surrey League on Sat, but then the Nationals a few weeks after and some usual club stuff in Richmond park (including a mob match) and then we go back to training on grass after the clocks change. XC season never ends for me ![]() |
