None of our League races are officially timed - our own timekeeper takes unofficial ones.

Its a long race for men too. I think that is unfair but it will probably be to do with marshals. Easy answer is to make the race shorter and record all results! I've always thought 9 miles is too far...

oi you
It's the Kent Vets races tomorrow. The M60+ race has been combined with the Vet Ladies, so we're doing a smidge over 5k. I don't plan to be over 90 mins for that one. If I am, I'm hanging up my spikes.

Cofton park in Birmingham League for us venue shared with the D2 men. Liked it when it was the county championships in Jan, its also where they run the Intercounties so league is the only chance I'll get!
Have a good one!

I'm at Cofton tomorrow too, looking fwd to it apart from yet again there being gale force winds forecast (4th weekend in a row for me, sense of humour failing now!).
Just fitted some 15mm spikes to my shoes, they look scary!
Out of interest is it likely that my spike key could have 'deformed' - it had the standard rectangular shape to grip the spikes to twist them on / off, but seems to have 'rounded off' if that makes sense? Perhaps I've been trying to do them up too tightly, but wanted to make sure the spikes are secure?!

Cofton Park for me too Just wondered what the course is like - not run this one before? Any streams to cross? How hilly is it? Feeling a bit below par, so only going to make sure we get a team across the line (we're only a very small club!). Should be "fun"

I ran Cofton Park once I think, can't remember details much though.
Went to buy new spikes today on my run commute, shop on Deansgate wasn't open though. Still nice detour, my old 12's are more like 8's so hope local place has stock first thing.

Sorry SDWC was a bit late to this, I could have told you Cofton was undulating parkland, not too muddy with no really technical bits, but I guess you've run it now!!
I had a great run today despite it being one of the windiest XC races ever if not one of the windiest ever races full stop!

A proper 'senior moment' at today's race. I put on the wrong vest, complete with race number pinned to it, for the race. It turned out to be one of my club mates who'd run in an earlier race. Mucked up the race results and earned me a stern 'looking at'. Ho hum.
'Twas a good run though. 26:30ish for the (almost) 5k, somewhere around 43rd of 50ish M60s. It was mostly in woodland, so quite sheltered from the wind, and, suprisingly, less muddy than it was a couple of weeks ago when we had a League fixture at the same course.
