Well done Claire and ndellar on your races at Cofton. I had my first ever XC dnf (see blog!), but love the course and, on the plus side, it was great to watch the front runners finish. Those girls are amazing! You just don't realise how fast they are running, when you're slogging it out at the back of the field! Has anyone run our next fixture at Crypt School before? It seems a heck of a long haul for a "Midlands" race, especially for Clubs like ours, which are north of Birmingham. We thought it was bad enough going to Pitville Park to run 6k Still, always good to run at different venues as you don't know what you're letting yourself in for

The details of the North Staffs XC at Uttoxeter racecourse this weekend don't look too interesting - "Races will be in the centre of the race track". It cannot be more than 1 mile around the inside bit and flat...not sure there would be much opportunity for interesting photos say! At least there were a few interesting places at Shipley Park last week for the North Mids XC... facebook.com (and indeed Bradgate Park for the Derby Runner XC: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.504252016425025.1073741922.258479744335588&type=3)

I thought that too sLickster, I can't see there would be many hills but some in our club reckon years ago there was a beast of a course at Uttoxeter and this may be it (it certainly wasn't the relays course!) I've never run at the Crypt school, in almost 9 years of running XC I don't recall there being a ladies fixture there. Sorry about the DNF but sounds sensible if you felt unwell. |

I suspect it'll be undulating but it always used to drain reasonably

I'll be doing this: thameshareandhounds.org.uk on Saturday. I knew there was a reason I'd kept my school athletics vest... and this is it. Shame not to be 100% fit, really, but there's always next year. |
