We are windy but much of our race is in woods so should be fine as long as not too many downed trees! Hope everyone has fun. Best thing about wind at xc is times don't matter

I ran to xc, was almost late so hacked around slower than normal. No trees down despite v.windy and some creaking branches!

Coventry was windy but drier than expected, there was some muddy areas but most of it was firm. Many commented that it was the driest they'd seen it. It was very windy though. I started easy as and stayed in a group to get some wind cover but as people slowed, surged to the next group. I had to take the third lap in the wind as there was no one around me running at the pace I could sustain and there was a decent gap to the next group. Managed to catch a few before the end and beat two teammates in a sprint finish to the line* (one of who beat me by 3 mins last week!).
*Another weird finish today, people were pretty much queuing to cross the finish line (to a poorly designed funnel imo). The finish line was essentially the next man in the queue, lol. In my sprint, I had to divert to the right to avoid the queue. The official line was crossed walking by some (I can't say most as I'm not sure how early the problem started), I certainly crossed it walking after coming back to take my position in the line.

Sounds like you had a good run SPR.
Droitwich was a bit wet, but not as bad as I've seen it - I've run there 4 or 5 times, and those times it's either been a championship race (snow!) or such extreme weather (flooding) they have changed the course to mean more "football pitch". This time because it was only a bit of a breeze (doesn't sound anywhere near as bad here as everywhere else in the country) we had the original course that has more of the woods and a big muddy uphill.
We didn't have a queue on the line, but we did have a queue on the first lap where the field we were running in narrowed to go down a steep muddy bank. It appears some folks can't run down a muddy hill without stopping to have a look first. Even though I'm slow it's still annoying to have made up some time / places on people and then those same people are back with you as you have to wait. Ah well, I still had a really good run - beat a lady who was a few places ahead of me at the counties last week, I'm slowly picking my targets off. Over the moon with that

Ndellar - Yep, it was good, and much improved over last week (I didn't go to the gym!). Good run yourself, always good to pick off targets.
