Some people feel a bit sluggish the day after a day off... so if you felt better today than Saturday then it might be worth thinking about with your coach whether a few miles the day before a race is what you need, instead of a day off.
Up to him/you of course.

What CFJ says is definitely worth thinking about, when I was racing far more seriously than these days it was the norm to take the penultimate day before a target race off and do 20 minutes easy the day before.

Ty!
I think it's worth to talk about it to my Dad (coach).
I'm glad most of us had a good time at counties! So next big race in the calendar is Northern / Midland / Southern championships. Will report back after these events.. should be good.
Till then, good luck!

Well done, Callum!
I was 11 seconds slower this year than last but felt much better. It was a really odd race. I scooted up the hills and pegged it on the downhills. I just lost concentration on the flat going into the last lap and lost a couple of places which I couldn't make up again.
Top day! Go, the Blue and White Army!
