I turned up just as the race was heading off, so you had a better start than my Garfield, lol.

The Worcestershire XC course was pretty much all under mud and water, even on top of the hills. Ran a slightly faster but similar pace to last time here 4 years ago when the ground was rock solid, which = big improvement in my eyes.
One of the things I love about XC is how the same course can be a completely different course

Curly - Joined in late (otherwise it wouldn't have been my first race ;-)). And it was still fun.

Well done all!
Willy - Good luck in Herts tomorrow! I am running inter counties - don't want to put a target up yet even though I have an idea of what I want. After southerns me and my coach will gain a better understanding of what I can expect and aim for.
Ndellar - That sounds like a brilliant run - I think however one of the main reasons why I enjoy xc is that I don't have to worry about the concept of time (which is the main focus of the track season.)

Curley - That's equally a very strong run in such a competitive county. Well done!

Thanks Callum - this is my first season (even though I am old) and I know for next year I need to work on my downhills, but I love XC.
Good luck at Southerns. I'll be there (near the back somewhere!).

My form goes all over the place when I go on downhills - I just need that confidence to throw myself down them!

There's a trick to running downhills without either losing control, knackering yourself or falling over but I'm buggered if I can remember what it is. That's a real shame because I'll need it in a few hours.
