I broke 70% in a 10k in 2016 and scored 67% (quarter horse) for the year. Unfortunately since then I've been injured / been not racing very much / been a bit shit. |

Fitz, I've followed a similar path since setting several PBs last year. I've put you on the list with 5k as a long-term goal, you'll get there!

Thanks for compiling the list, Goofee. I'm feeling a bit of a fraud as I'm so far off 70% compared to most others on there!

Thanks Goofee, this sits nicely with my Project Joker programme (2 weeks in) which is forcing me to do a bit more threshold / speed work, rather than just going out for a bimble every few days...

I don't think that's a problem, TeeBee. When I said at the turn of the year that I was going for 70%, I'd just about scraped into the low 60s and had no way of knowing whether or not the potential to improve much was still there.

If you are healthy and relatively committed/serious (not in an arsey way) about your running I feel 70% is really good aspirational target for many people. If you are already in the mid 60s why shouldn't a further 5% improvement be possible? If you've been stuck there forever - in spite of getting older and training more - then perhaps it's time to Have a Think. Perhaps you're barking up the wrong training tree? (I was) Perhaps you've come to the end of the natural improvement climb? Vrap is interesting because she's working her way BACK to the 70 percent pluses - and looks to be targetting the race distances where she feels/is most likely to succeed. |

It seems that getting a year older means that for the same time the WAVA gets better by about 0.5%. So I will target the Girton 5k, two weeks Thursday.
