I think that's a bit of an impossible question! My other half saw himself as a very average runner and did a couple of half maras at around 1:40 when he was in his mid 40s. Bu there are so many variables - not least what do you call average! |

Please miss, I know this! Or at least, this handy calculator runbayou.com tells me that a 46-year-old man will score a 50% WAVA if he runs a half marathon in 2:07:50 ![]() |

I looked at that too - but it seems unreasonably slow for a 46 year old bloke! I always see 60 percent as average, even though obviously 50% is. |

I think that's where I got the idea 60% is average from V-rap. He INSISTS he is only 'very average'. And, YOU, missis have room to talk! You always go on about being mediocre and rare;y score anything lower than 70 never mind 60 percent! |

V'rap's link unfortunately has rotted, but this link will give you, yes you personalised times for popular distances at specific wavas fetcheveryone.com/race-standards.php There is a calculator here fetcheveryone.com/training-calculators-wava.php What is average? I reckon the median wava of those who actually run events is probably around 55, mean time wava around 57-58. I agree that Raffo underestimates himself. |
