Hi Fetchies

Does anyone understand why my PREDICTED WAVAs (as kindly calculated by Fetch) are different for different distances? My actual 10k WAVA is 70.05 but, for example, my predicted 1 mile WAVA 67.11. Why woudn't my predicted WAVA be 70.05 at every distance?

Thanks in advance for any explanations...

They are based off world bests for that age.

What it shows is where your strength is compared to the best your age and your weakness.

Bumpity bump.

How come only some races qualify for my WAVA rankings?

I have done three races this year so far, but only one is counted.

(It's totally irrelevant as my ranking is Monkey Toast, just curious as to what the criteria could possibly be?)

I think they have to count in the PB listings for WAVA ratings. And it seems lots of fell races, etc, don't count for them.

I'm the same as you. Three races and none counting.

Not sure why they don't count, when they're so much slower anyway, they just drag down the ranking and that's if you get to the 3 races required per year.

I wondered if it was something like that, fell races don't count in your Powerof10 either.

Interestingly, my one counter this year (so far) was an LDWA event - so not even technically a race!

I suppose a fell race by it's very nature is not a strictly defined route, so there could be a lot more variation between runners and you can't compare two fell races, even of the same or similar distance due to terrain etc.

Ah well, I'm not really fast enough to worry about it too much! Thanks though :)

Some fell races count, some don't. And there doesn't seem to be any rationale between which do or don't looking at my races.

I wonder if it's simply somehow the way they're recorded in the race directory.

Got something to say?
