County champs for plenty tomorrow? I’ll be at Cheshire, but spectating only. A cold / man flu / proper flu (depending who you ask) since 29th Dec plus hints of a small pull in the soleus makes it less than sensible to run - shame as my eldest has graduated to the seniors* race now so he’d have had the challenge of lapping me!!
(Due to the bizarre selection issues for inter counties, if you’re a genuine U20 for races this weekend, but turn 20 by the end of the calendar year you have choice of runnng for your local U20s title but NOT being selected for the county inter counties side because that race is run to IAAF age groups instead!!)

Surrey Champs for me.
Larks in Surrey on the women's side U20s in that situation are eligible to be selected by the team manager for senior women's, but then he doesn't pick first X across the line as many others do so has more of an awareness of the form of each runner and selects on form overall.

I am slow, unfit and still feel a bit off from having flu (yes proper flu) about a month ago. I’ll be happy not to get lapped and finish before the men’s race starts.
However the Warwickshire/Worcs Champs are at a new venue that I’ve never run at tomorrow so that will be exciting!

I’m dodging the Notts/Derbs race at Wollaton as still slightly traumatised by the Midlands Champs at the same venue last year. The counties race generally avoids the really swampy bit, and it hasn’t been too wet recently but I’m still not chancing it

Warks champs for me too, though I think I'm going to run it progressively rather than flat out, as I've also got a 5m road race on Sunday!

I always like Wollaton but the going was definitely soft round the back bit last year!

The Wollaton course tomorrow will be a fairly non-muddy course (you can see it on the Derbyshire athletics website), which will be different to the North Mids race there next week, which usually goes out and back on the flat by the golf course.

Cheers for the link sLickster. I like the North Mids route – fewer laps and it always seems easier going that "way round". Provided the turn by marshall point 5 isn’t too sharp and it stays away from the bog by the trees the course tomorrow should be fine.
Almost regret not entering now …..

4 climbs up to the Hall though sLickster, and 3 trips through the boggy bit at the far corner.
