There were compliants about the corner we were on as it turned after the start (I'd noticed in the first race and tried to get hold of the RD who did actually turn up and we widened the course) but pretty much had a man shouting in my face about it who would it listen to what I was telling him. It was a nightmare trying to keep the central bit clear for emergency access. Also had a junior girl pass out in front of me and had to do some first aid till the paramedics got there. I hope she was ok.

The ranting bloke (and many other people crossing the course) were just rude and should have more respect for others races. And I don't think his motives of "safety" were that pure. I think one of his teams kids hadn't got themselves up the front and lost time in the congestion and he was more miffed at that. I gave as good as I got as I didn't like being told I was "lying" about already ringing the officials to sort it out but afterwards on both counts I felt a bit

And then there was that incident where the U20W leader went the the wrong way when the course was wrongly marked and even though she finished first and would have won she was disqualified (losing a fair chunk of prize money - £600 I think - and a winner's medal), but still may be selected for the World XC Champs

Frobester Apr 2017 3:12pm, 27 Apr 2017 26,253 posts	Quote Pin Frobester Just noting it here - Box End Aqua Park in Bedfordshire do a lovely 10k XC (it was last night), and, surprisingly for somewhere within spitting distance of the town centre, it had Undulations. 2 laps of a partially flat course around a man-made lake, tough but rewarding. Only £7.50 too - but don't expect anything more than a "well done", just as I like it though.
