Race well rhb.

Midlands XC relays are next week but skipping it as a break from racing and intense work is needed.

League starts on second Saturday of November.

I AM RUNNING THE XCs THIS SEASON :) :) :)

Starting with the relays.

I will be Slow McSlowface but I don't care.

Shame our club don't run in the N Staffs League any more, but I'm sure I will see the lovely Stafford Common again one day in the MWCCL or championships.

Our first fixture today.

Reigate wasn't nearly muddy enough for me, although I did opt for spikes in the end after much dithering. Also quite a long 6k course, but thats XC for you. 20th place which is 12 places better than I have done previously (and 20 better than my best at our shorter races).

Our next fixture is one of my least favourite courses, flat, grass snore...but before then I have SEAA XC relays next weekend in Wormwood Scrubs.

Hope you enjoy it ndellar. I love XC relays.

SPR are you targeting indoors instead?

Hope it went well RHB!

Our club are running in a different league this season. Men and women together with longer distance for us ladies! Not quite sure what we've let ourselves in for - guess time will tell!

Curly - No, I'll be doing XC. Just starting with the first league fixture rather than the relays so have a bit of a break between seasons.

Nice work btw Curly. Always go for spikes. If it's really too hard for 9mm, there's always 6mms...

I never buy the 6mms though... so I did run in 9mms. Front toe pad is a bit sore on both feet, but not too bad. There were enough leaves to soften it a bit.

I prefer spikes. Much comfier than clunky trails.

Was fun. Wonky pacing but about par just over 40 mins.

Think specific training in Aug/Sept would help here... usually perform better through season as get race fit.

Have fun everyone!

Nice work RHB.

Curly - I've never thought about using 6mms for XC before but I'm going to stick a set in my XC bag now just in case.
