Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Mr. K.
Now that my long stuff is out of the way I`m so looking forward to running (for the 1st time) some XC races. Running in the Thames Valley league & wearing my 2nd claim club colour - Windle Valley. 1st meeting on the 10th Nov @ Datchet. Hoping it`s all mud & hills :-)

I'm starting this league on Sunday, by all accounts the Wellingborough one is muddy, undulating, and wet!

The Datchet meet is completely flat and not very interesting, Mr K, but the other Thames Valley league venues are good. My favourite is the Handy Cross one at Bradenham near High Wycombe.

Stafford Common on Saturday, N Staffs League. In the dry a fast course, despite the undulations, but in the wet....

I'll have done 3 XC races before the Birmingham League starts which is good. Well in practice!

Leamington done. Didn't get a proper warm up, so ran it as a proper progressive run where I start really slow, then speed up gradually.

'Twas fun, I flew down the hill, but took it easy up (one day I'll go up fast and come down faster!), was running very fast (relative to others anyway for the last lap) and it always feels good to be going faster than those around you, 'tis a great buzz!

Obviously the reality is I didn't 'race' well given a faster start would have had me better placed and I could have run faster overall, but I felt good, so it was a good start to the xc (league) season, and I now have some teammates to tick off at the next race.
