I ventured to its page on Wikipedia. I rather wish I hadn't.

Ah, good. My workplace decided I rather shouldn't look at that place.

Ampthill Trophy tomorrow. Heavy rain forecast overnight, but dry for the actual race, so should be nice and muddy! A good hard intro to the xc series down here.

1st XC race for me today in over 25 years - enjoyed it - very friendly atmosphere and a great run out - hoping to do a lot more in the future

Nice day for it today. Supported while Curly ran at Lightwater (sorry, didn't see you Garfield) in the opening Surrey League match. Our Ranelagh ladies had an impressive 14 runners and put in a strong performance and we also had an U13 team for the first timee in years. We hope we can get promotion back to Div 1 at the first attempt.
Julia Bleasdale was, unsurprisingly, in a race of her own for Thames Hare & Hounds.
Then we travelled over to Wimbledon Common for the men's race where we also had a strong performance. I intended to keep it an easy run as I have a 10 mile road race tomorrow. I found myself right near the back so I ended up running much harder. It was enjoyable though.

Oh Garfield based off Magpie's description I did talk to you at the start of the race! Sorry didnt realise it was you (I was explaining to the newer runners about not needing to worry to about division 1 women ;)).
Well done on running and marshalling
Enjoy it Frobster - hopefully they'll all seem easy later on
Hello JB welcome to thread and back (Bach ;)) to XC!

Hee hee Curly, yes that was me and I thought it might have been you! Should have asked if you were a fetchie...but would have been embarrassing if it hadn't been you! Thanks and nice running. Our Gilbert won the men's race...

Smashed my previous course record by 2 minutes. Stoked, as they say.
