Wasn't great, but I have enough 'excuses' to be ok with it, lol. I had a lull at the start of the second lap where I felt dead, but then picked it up in the second half of the lap, and ended up with an even split on laps, but not even racing
It is a course you could fly round if you're a speedster in good form.
I think we may have a few flat courses in the league this year, which is disappointing.

Yes, I know the Birmingham League can be a round the football pitches extravaganza, which is partly why we do the N Staffs league as well. I've been to the Birmingham XC league AGMs and it is disappointing a) how few clubs want to host a fixture b) how even less clubs want to host the ladies as well. I was hoping we'd get Baggeridge Park (near Dudley) and Sandwell Valley again I enjoyed those immensely.
One of our mens teams got DQ'd Sat - one of our runners managed (and I've no idea how apart from it can be lonely with no one to follow - I will find out on Wednesday) to take a massive shortcut which meant he did his leg in 20 mins. With the best will in the world he's not that quick. Still they were never going to win and all had a good time which is the main thing.

Sandwell Valley was good last year, although I was rubbish, lol. I love Cofton as well.
Not sure how you take a short cut as it was well marked. I did get confused about finish or second lap lane and ended up ducking under the tape twice to start my second lap, lol

Oh dear!
Unfortunately because our men are in D3 we don't ever seem to get to run at Cofton, but having marshaled at the Intercounties I'd love to run it. Must try harder in county championships then ha ha ha!
We haven't got any XC for a fortnight now, next one is a N Staffs fixture at Stafford Common at the end of Oct. I'm going to fill in the next 2 weeks with off roady Parkruns. At least by the time Leamington comes I'll be well in XC mode.

Cofton was the second fixture for a couple of years, but the order the women fixtures came to the men's changed from D1, D2, D3, to the opposite for some reason, so you missed out.
Leamington is my next one, so just training till then and hopefully I'll have made a decent improvement by then.

The Vets Garfield? I marshalled last year its pretty good by all accounts, but we are having an issue with the parks people re: marking courses (no longer allowed to use sawdust), please pay attention at the race briefing incase some the flags go walkies!

Why not use sawdust? It's gone in the first rainstorm.

I thought the same. Environmentally friendly and all that?
