I was the opposite - started quickly and died on my arse. Must've lost 10 places in the last half lap, which is never nice.
Quite muddy for November, innit. Washing machine's just finished so the decision on whether to keep that pair of socks is approaching...

I loved Leamington today, was brilliant! I think we had it easier - the course was pretty bad by the time the men went through! I also think running it anticlockwise is nicer than the clockwise direction of last year. I managed to beat any recognizable figures I was around in the placings last year so I'm happy with that

Johnny - Muddy indeed! I had 12mm in, was too short on the really muddy bits, and at one point I almost went over hard on my ankle. Managed to jump out of it, so think I should be ok, a little sore, but no swelling.
At Leamington a fast start is probably the only way if you're planning on racing.
Lol about the socks.
Ndellar - Nice one, beating those you expect/want to is always good. I defo lost to at least one person I'm capable of beating, not enough time to make up the gap I had let build up, was a good motivator over the last few minutes of the race though.

I saw someone who appeared to be running just in socks....
The guy who won, or at least was in the lead at all the points we saw looked like he was running insanely fast!

One of our women was taking photos of the men's race and said quite a few men lost their shoes in the ditch. I went hard left at the ditch and did have any issues there. One day, I'll try and jump it

Johnny - Do you know what was going on with the finishing funnel? Seemed they wanted us to separate into leagues at the finish? I was in a sprint (which for the record I won ;-)) so just went straight down the middle.

Was fun out there, wasn't it? Went flat on my face at the ditch on the first lap, so not the best of starts (and can still smell that mud, even after long soaky bath!). I thought the course was great, but I needed to do a longer warm up before start as it took me ages to get going!
The first men to finish were inspirational and the lad who won was miles ahead of the rest .... great to watch

Ugh, not good SD - all those stinky rotting apples! Looking at your time I think you might have been in the group I was trying to chase down at the end...
