Not good Garfield. Ndellar - sounds good. I DNF at the champs. Had a sore achilles before the race which ended up an injury by the time I stopped. In hindsight, I shouldn't have started as the conditions were not kind for achilles issues. Think the XC season is done for me as even if I'm running before the last one, it is probably too risky unless 100%. I've raced at Cheltenham but not that location, I've heard there may be stream crossing and it is undulating. If I can get a lift (in other words not at the expense of runners), I may come and watch. |

Garfield, was that at Wimbledon Common? There were lots of falls and one our faster men also ended up with bloodied knees. On the Surrey League facebook page they also referred to some people ending up in A&E. :o Shame really as it was such a glorious day. I was fortunate and came through unscathed. |

The outrageous part was initially there wasn't any first aiders there...the ranger that brought our girl in had to eat his office to call St Johns ambulance people.

Course and lappage details for the national, courtesy of my second claim club website are copied below. This is the only place I've seen this published as the Notts AC site and ECCA don't have anything up. For people who don't know the park, the hall is at the top of a hill, and the lake is erm, at the bottom of it. So the large lap has quite a sharp kick up to the hall in that dogleg, then you turn and go downhill. The start/finish area tends to be wet, so by 3pm it should be a complete mess ![]() longeatonrunningclub.com for the map. longeatonrunningclub.com for the timetable and distances. |

Southern XC champs today was as brutal as I had been led to expect. 9 miles of hilly slurry dragging at your feet it certainly took a toll on the muscles. I lost a shoe at about 7 miles and lost about 1.5 mins getting it back on. The wind was getting stronger as the race progressed and the rain started properly for the last half lap for me. At least I was finished before the thunder and hailstones arrived! |

I also just about ran today. Hilarious fall. Bit grazed now. Anyway, I know running is a small world so hopefully someone will know. I found a glasses case with two pairs of glasses in. I took it as the rain had been going on a while and it was all that was left of our club kit pile, but no one has said they lost theirs. If anyone mentions a missing case please point them here. I'll happily post them back to the owner! |

Glad to hear you're running again Curly45.:) I didn't do today as I thought I'd be way out of my league there!

Glad to see you running Curly ![]() Midlands at XC at Leamington was pretty good fun, more slurry and slop, it was like that first thing this morning before anyone had run! When the time came we had all the elements in one race; sunshine, rain, hail, strong wind, thunder & lightning - the sky went dark and then got lit up quite amazingly by lightning bolts. I felt like I handled the ditch well on both laps that contained it; it was the deepest I've ever seen it so I just went in both feet, leaned forward and hoped my legs would work out what to do, thankfully they did. ![]() Garfield I don't know about the Southerns or other area champs, but I doubt very much it's out of your league. We have a v65 lady who took 1.18 to do the 5.2 miles there is usually a huge range of ability at these things. |

Running is a bit of an exaggeration! I am very slow and unfit so I mostly just struggle around. Found the glasses owner at least. Sounds tough Ndellar, but good work on the ford. No rivers for us at this one, but plenty of mud. Women's was done before the rain thankfully. |
