Nice one BVR.
Re Southerns - I expect some may be saving themselve for the Nationals. The change of date must have had some effect.
Good luck Callum
And nice racing Oi you

How bloody tough was that. Someone at the start had said about the hills, but they were a piece of cake compared to some of the thicker muddy sections and the contouring.
I can also still barely feel my feet. Hopefully a bath and pizza should help remedy that.

Scottish Nationals for me today. Perfect XC conditions. Muddy at parts without being silly, no rain, no wind, just a nice cold crisp day. Loved it. PB'd it.

I was forced in to missing Sunderland. I came down with a bug Thursday night and was up all night, still talking down the great white telephone at 9.00am yesterday when I was getting picked up at 10.30am so I decided not to travel. Feel better today but probably not up to giving it the welly I'd have wanted to. Either way - gutted
Well done everyone who ran today. I've had a couple of texts from club mates saying just how tough it was.

Just a bit LT. I've raced over moorland bogs before, but have never managed to attract so much mud. A clubmate became confused for a few seconds when she saw us at the end of the first lap - she was sure none of us had running tights on, but our legs weren't flesh coloured!
Ndellar, bad look on not being able to race it, but they weren't conditions for if you were ill. I was mildly hypothermic by the time I got back to the car, and a clubmate was in a similar state.

MM - at your clubmates reaction. Someone at my club did describe it as "worse than Alton Towers" which was pretty bad a couple of years ago.
Yes I was sensible and staying home in bed was the best thing to have done, being sensible isn't a lot of fun though! Still, next time.
Hope you are thawing out ok.

I haven't had so much fun for ages! I usually steer clear of XC cos i find 'em boring! Certainly not today.
Pity you missed it ND.
