Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Nice one larkim.

I need to see if I can find a 10k and have another bash. Next one I know of is September.

Nice work larkim. I also wonder if I can find another 10k, might have to settle for a few summer parkruns which are easier in hot weather. Oh there was a nice race in Harrogate last year, I'll look that up. Stiff uphill finish and mixed terrain, 41 mins last year but I'm a bit fitter than that now perhaps.

Pacer ran pretty much even splits whilst meant he dropped his pacing group at about 8.5km when the uphill got a bit much effort which I think was a misjudgement. Most people's pacing was big positive splits which was pretty predictable given the course.

Well organised, it was a runthrough branded event so not cheap (though I had a free place) but they are pretty slick.

I found a 10k next weekend, but forecasts says +26°C.
I don’t think I’ll get a pb in those conditions :). Maybe for the race experience, I don’t know.

Thought I'd pop in here and blow my own trumpet a little. Ran the Wilmslow 10k this morning and given how my races have gone this year I would have been happy with anything under 40 mins. Instead, the stars aligned and I ran a 19 second PB of 38.57, and that included a brief stop to re-tie a shoelace at 1km.

I've the last Sale Sizzler on 3 August so am feeling inspired to try and run my second fastest 5km time (my fastest is on the very generous Mid Cheshire 5km and is a good 35 seconds quicker than any of my others).
