I remember you posting one of Stephen Scullion's videos before, Big_G. I'd quite like to see him secure an Olympic spot and actually turn up on form and put in a decent performance.

Big_G I think it's hard to tie improvements to individual sessions. I've often worked on a 10 day rule for seeing (aerobic) benefit and there's certainly a cumulative effect that sessions, long runs, etc give you over time. You might get strength/flexibility/mental benefit sooner which could make a session go better. I like Scully's videos but think he could do with trying to level his emotions a tiny bit as he's quite up/down. |

Yellow start for me. Is that a new one? Not heard of it before. I’ve gone Green, and the old FGFA start - maybe it’s the rebranded FGFA. |

Big_G I would be very sceptical of measuring weekly improvements. There's a good reason why training for stamina events lasts many weeks/months and progression is rarely linear. It's great to show an increase in performance on a certain session, but equally we shouldn't be put out if, for many reasons, there is a downturn. Is it time to remind everyone of the character that decided to do a mile at MP each week, increasing to 26.2 on marathon day? Maybe a different point, but still an interesting anecdote. I think yellow is the new FGFA start TRO. |

I was off yellow last year. It's basically the same as red but for relatively quicker runners. You use the red start, but get penned as yellow in a smaller area. Whether that's FGFA or just a split of the GFA between yellow and green (and more?) I don't know, but both of them only have relatively quick pacers (3:00-3:30 in yellow, 3:00-3:40 in green with then a big gap to some 7:00+ pacers). Where was the old FGFA start? |

Wife has been achey through the back and shoulders all week; I'm more in CBA mode now I know that very little positive can be added to the tank. I've told her it is taper related; taper tantrum sounds an excellent expression! |
