Extremely unlikely and I said loitering, not participating. I'm only here to get a feel for how rediculous this level of marathon running is.

Thanks SPR

Thanks folks and cracking run Brunski properly against the odds. I bet you were carving through the field in the second half just by holding firm for so long!

WW - I saw a photo with your friend behind me near the finish and it was properly the first I’d seen of him all race. Really felt like all the groups etc massively changed in the last 4 miles as people fell apart or came through strongly. Was suddenly overtaking and being passed by people I’d not seen at all over the previous hours!

Yeah I went through the field pretty much from the start but really enjoyed cutting through the groups that set off up the road from me.

I’d say I started about 60th, got up to 45th and into my group that formed by about mile 3, then stayed there until we started picking up groups ahead from about 8 miles onward. By halfway I’d say I was 30th, maybe got to 20th by 20, held that to 23, then passed a couple but dropped 3 places between 23-25 when I slowed a bit.

All in all really happy with how I executed, but legs don’t feel as beat up as usual today, think I’ll run later, so maybe the head gave up a little early (or I didn’t really watch the pace enough and dig in).

Ran for the first time since London this morning and Garmin elevated me from detraining to maintaining despite it only being six miles. I think I may adopt an extreme taper when I next race as the pace was faster than in any of my taper runs. Mind you I was coughing like a 20 a day smoker when I stopped.
