Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

A steady month including a holiday takes me to 1663 for the year. RD tomorrow then pick it up again in November and look at getting to 2000 for the year.

I'm about 2km behind my November 2022 total before I run today, and I have at least 110km left to do this month.

I'm having a good year, i really hope it will do some good eventually.
I really dont have the specific talent for running, since my volume should've done me a lot more i think :) but volume still works.
And i also had my biggest week ever last week, and i did 140 km of good training (87,5miles) Amazing that some people does that and a lot more during just one race sometimes :)

I find it much harder to do a 100 mile training week than it is to do a 100 mile race. Max training weeks for me are about 75 miles. With a race, you just head out and stop when you are done plus you don’t have to fit around work/life etc

I've only done one 100mile race so can't speak as for trends of how easy they are (though I've had low points in almost all ultras I've done) but I've never done a 100mile training week. I think the most was 80miles and that included a 40mile training run for said 100m race.

Loading your body day after day is not easy.

I noted there was an elite marathon runner a couple of weeks ago who was talking about his training hitting 170miles! I couldn't even start to get my head round it.
